Better odds and more fun for decent prizes
Not won anything yet (and wouldnt expect to based on the amount of tickets Ive had so far) but I'd give it a 5 star review. In general it looks very roughly like if 50% tickets are sold, they break even. Most tickets sell at 70% or more, so they do make a margin but perhaps not as big as some competitors per sale. However this strategy gives them greater appeal and you see draws throughout the week. In terms of your odds, if you bought around £1 worth of tickets and 50% sold, your odds of winning a 1k jackpot might be 1 in 1000. A 25k might be 1 in 25k. In reality this enables you to choose a prize level that makes a difference to you and have far better odds than you'd get elsewhere. Consider the "postcode lottery" for example. They don't publish odds, but I cancelled that when I took a closer look at their "winners map". Seeing the odd £10 prize won years apart or just once for areas gave a clear picture and one that looks considerably worse. Personally, I'd say if you haven't cancelled that, consider doing so and buying an equivalent volume at dcgiveaways instead. It's better odds and more fun to boot. I'm not going to share my suspicions in regards to strategy and hitting the sales mark as I think it gives them a competitive edge and it's a company that I like to see growing, versus companies like postcode lottery and omaze. I do have a sub to omaze but it's now reduced and I suspect worse value than dcg. My take on it is simply that DCG is the best of the bunch. Edit: I would like to see combo prizes though, like a 4 seater Mercedes hybrid convertible, practical yet real appeal, plus 10k cash. The cash add on would make you feel less guilty for taking the car lol. We all know there are some beautiful cars out there.
