To find news that is not the narrative…
To find news that is not the narrative of the rich elite is a great thing. A little left for me but 100 times better than bulls++t.

Excellent. The conversation between Professor Avi Schlaim and Ghada Kami ("The Hidden History of Israel") is wonderful and not to be missed.

In my opinion Double Down News gives excellent honest well presented podcasts, analysis and news. Often on issues that are not necessarily receiving as much exposure as they should.

Excellent. Its the bitter truth.
Double Down News Is Underrated News Platform and Much Potential to grow in the future and to learn. Remember: 1. Spit Facts, Always. 2. Stay On The Truth 3. Stay Professional Then it will grow and grow larger each time
Heavy left-wing bias. Not a trusted independent source.
I admire their politics, and in particular George Monbiot, so I'm just earnestly wondering: what is the deal with all the cash they are making (about 36K per a month, according to their own Patreon account). It seems all their output is just people talking on camera, offering their personal (and typically informed and interesting) opinions. There has been about 10 such videos made over the last month. So, they're averaging about 3,500 US$ budget per each video, none of which looks like it would have any real cost associated with it (there's no fancy graphics and they're just hosted on Youtube). Thus, I'm just wondering: what is all the cash being spent on? George Monbiot (admirably) lists his income on his website, but I see nothing listed in his most recent updates about DoubleDown at all. So, again, I am wondering: where is the money being spent? It's a pity the DD website is not more transparent about this issue. If they were merely a total start up, I wouldn't have any qualms (just yet), but they've been on the block long enough to at least begin to address these sorts of issues, which are absolutely key, in my opinion.
Not sure what to say, most of the things they talk about sound good in theory but I feel like in practice its another different thing...
Excellent honest well presented podcasts, analysis and news that gives more space and detail to issues that are not necessarily receiving as much exposure as they deserve, due to limited outlets, and also becausd of the exclusionary policies and rightwing bias in mainstream media, due to ownership and employment of partisan rightwing journalists views only, and avoids false equivalence. I am a journalist so I know.
Double Down News is thorough, informed and not owned by the billionaire press. Even if you don’t agree politically with everyone who is on, it provides a space for voices that do not get out enough in MSM. Great Journalism, which is something we desperately need.
Beware Greeks bearing gifts. DD are playing the mood music of many people feeling disillusioned with current affairs. Looking at some responses, advocating riots and violence is disturbing.
I have only just joined so am keeping my counsel for the moment. I admire investigative journalism immensely and, in particular, George Monbiot's investigation into cronyism in our government. I don't agree with the admiration of Jeremy Corbin and feel this trend may discourage others to join.
Blairite slow-release commies trying to suck mega-corporste D and destroy anything of value in the world
I look at this daily and are doing subscriptions for relatives for Christmas. This means not spending wildly in order to get the government out of trouble. Plus, for busy working parents, they can listen to honest news while doing patent jobs. Your speakers are all amazing people so thank you and them for giving us their time and knowledge
DDN is definitely a great source of news and topical information. A breath of fresh air!
A great source for well articulated arguments from a wide variety of established and highly regarded journalists, activists and politicians. I do hope they maintain a level of centrist opinion and start featuring more positive (outcome) stories moving forward.
A trusted news source that isn't funded by billionaires
Information reported can be verified, and therefore trusted
Best news available tell truth only not backed by billionaires
Good, calm and rational reporting with evidenced viewpoints. I think its occasionally very socialist stance will alienate a wider audience. It is certainly a panacea to the extremist, right-wing, opinion-led but fact-free media. We need to overcome the control and propaganda of and increasingly narrow-minded media.
Some good content but with a tendency to be too heavy on platforming opinions like ranting about capitalism in a way that I think is just preaching to their flock and likely to alienate questioning people from their cause. I think content that identifies more specific problems and offered alternatives to them like accepting that capitalism can work well in places and taking a more helpful stance of identifying where it isn't working and calling on experts to propose well considered practical changes with the supporting theory would make the content more appealing to people who lives are unavoidably entrenched in the existing systems that they don't agree with, but its all they have and fear loosing. Politics, climate and equality are a mess but I think they can be fixed without calling for a revolution that seems to threaten to make victims of people who aren't that badly off. I think almost everybody can benefit from a much more equal long term focused society but those people needs to be shown how they will be protected in the transition or they won't support the cause.
A news outlet that prioritise people, ideas, evidence and community above all. Sounds good to me.
