We recently bought through Debbie Fortune. We received a professional and efficient service throughout. Despite persistent setbacks that were outside their control, they managed expectations and their client very well to get us to exchange. Particular mention should go to Kiera Morris, who was excellent throughout.

"I recently rented from DebbieFortune and had a very negative experience. Unfortunately, when I received the keys to the property, it was very dirty and there were several issues with fire alarms and black mould that went unaddressed for years. Despite notifying the agent about these issues, I was charged for repairs and ultimately lost my deposit when I moved out. I’m extremely disappointed with the level of service provided by DebbieFortune. While I appreciate their time, I would not recommend renting or using their services in the future. In my opinion, better communication and attention to detail, as well as not siding with landlords, would go a long way in improving their services."

We sold our house via Debbie Fortune, we went with them due to their honest appraisal and reasonable fees. They have been very good, proactive friendly approach to the entire process When things stalled with solicitors they chased up to get things moving again keeping us well informed. I could not recommend Debbie Fortune estate agents enough. They provided an absolutely unbelievably good service. All their staff are so lovely and helpful and r I personally had a very unusual sale and purchase and Scott, Lisa, Jo and Keira went out of their way to help and got everything exchanged. They're a first class estate agents and whatever value your property is they're the agents to use. They're the best.

In a time when our government has repeatedly lied to us and created financial hardship it's a shame to see an esteemed and trusted estate agent like Debbie Fortune cashing in on the current climate. In a nut shell we attempted to rent a property from Debbie Fortune as our landlord is selling the property we are in. We were taken through their referencing app called Canopy which deemed us high risk and were turned down which was fair enough. But we were then refused our holding deposit back as I was told I hadn't declared adverse credit which I had been completely transparent about and made no attempt to hide the fact on their frankly invasive Canopy credit referencing tool. A week or so later we applied for another property from another letting agent and once again went through referencing declaring my small adverse credit and got accepted without any problems. This has me questioning how Debbie Fortune references their prospective tenants with this Canopy app who even now bombard me with marketing emails as at the time the app got me to sign up for a paid subscription they claimed would help my credit rating. The experience with Debbie Fortune was humiliating, dehumanising and utterly disrespectful also not helped by the fact that the person I spoke to at the end thought it appropriate to laugh at my circumstance trying to get my deposit back when they're aware we would need the money for a deposit on the next application. I would also question whether their decision was influenced by my ethnicity as their initial contact had been with my partner who is caucasian. I spoke with a few estate agents since who agreed it was a very shady experience and a few other horror stories concerning this particular company. The worst part of it is that Debbie Fortune is selling the house we are currently in for our landlord, who is a lovely chap and who gave us a good reference so just seemed odd again as we have a positive history of renting with him. This has been my personal experience with Debbie Fortune so it may not necessarily mean yours will be a negative one as well but I would strongly advise to approach these people with caution and know what you're getting into.
