I’ll try to make this long story short. I inherited my Dad’s 2 Harleys in 2006. They sat for many years, until one year I asked my friend David if he’d like a winter project and get the two bikes running. Six months later I sold Dad’s ’88 Heritage to him. David cherished that bike. But after 5 years he decided to upgrade to a 2021 Harley trike. He then decided to sell the ‘88, not just to anyone, but to his daughter. Kimberley has longed for this Harley from the first time her Dad let her ride it. When David was preparing to transport the bike to her, unbeknownst to her I ordered the “Police” bell and shipped it to her home. Yes, she rides Harleys and horses protecting and serving in Maryland. Her Mom advised her to not open the package until David got there. I needed to have David put that bell on his daughter’s bike, he was my “proxy” for that task. I “passed” my Dad’s bike onto David, and by proxy, he passed my Dad’s bike onto his daughter. I know some of my Dad’s spirit is still with that ‘88, and hope that beautiful bell carries all that good energy forward.
