J’ai acheté aux enchères un véhicule ou des défauts importants n’avaient pas été signalés par le vendeur. A priori annulation de la vente impossible... C’est moi qui suis en faute car je n'ai pas été voir le véhicule avant d’enchérir... On me menace même d’avoir à payer des frais supplémentaires ! Car&Classic protège donc ses vendeurs peu honnêtes . Normal , ils touchent une commission à chaque vente , alors que le simple acheteur ne sera avoir qu’une fois .

Something pretty iffy about their car auctions - my bid was winning, but then got outbid in the last seconds - fair enough - but at the end of the auction, my bid wasn’t even listed! Also the winning bidder appeared to outbid himself and paid way over the top for the car - wtf?! Edit: I now see from the car and classic website that the winning bid for the car has been adjusted down from over £25k to £23k!?! So, there IS something amiss with the bidding process - how can one confidently bid on something on the carandclassic website when one can’t be assured that it actually works properly. Sorry, but that’s unforgivable… The car is the Porsche 997 GT2 RS replica…

Sold my much loved Morgan on classified, loads of views and watches first to arrange viewing took car away same day.A simple and easy process and a thankyou to Car &Classic for providing this excellent site for like minded people to use.

They have a login problem. I forgot my password. It says it will send you a link presumably they mean an email (its not clear what they mean, a text perhaps). I tried but I didn't receive an email link. I'm not sure what I did next but managed to upload my car's details quite easily once the initial sign in hurdle had been overcome. My car is displayed very nicely. It will accept a massive amount of text considering that its free. The questionaire was helpful and appropriate. I was irritated and frustrated at first but I'm happy now.

Whilst the service was good overall, I would strongly advise against selling lower value cars this way. My Jaguar XJ sold for a winning bid of £3,400, however, the total fees charged to myself (including listing fees) and the buyer by Car & Classic were almost £1,700 - half of that bid. Just to clarify in response to Car & Classic's response to my review above. Sellers fee £720, listing fee £249, and they charged the buyer £400. So £1,400 may have been "inaccurate", but not by much! And before they try the other one, the photographer only gets a proportion of the £249. The point was still well made, and stands.

Alex and the team were brilliant to deal with . Professional, responsive and made the whole as process smooth as possible.

The process was very simple from start to finish. The description was written to a great standard and the photographs were numerous and detailed. Communications with the auctioneer and potential buyers were straight forward (special mention to Chandler who was superb) and the payment was swift!

I bid for a classic car via the auction site. Although this was the first time I'd used C&C site to buy the whole process was relatively straight forward. Unlike Ebay the auction end time automatically extends if you bid in the closing minutes which allows you to bid without losing out to a 'snip' bid placed to automatically bid in the dying seconds. Only issue was the use of Mangopay by C&C as the bank to send the cash to. Process was easy but the use of non UK based bank caused NW to temporarily block payment due to fraud concerns but easily sorted. No probs with communication and all auto emails as part of settlement process received ok. Now I know the system I'd happily use again for future purchases.

Easy site to sell on. I had a huge amount of online views and 16 watchers. Car sold after 3 weeks for a little under the asking price.

I advertised my 1927 AJS 'big port ' and I did not expect a rush of eager buyers as it is a minority interest. However being patient paid off and after some serious enquiries I foun̈d a suitable buyer who was enthralled. One happy buyer and a happy seller.

Listed my historic campervan in free classified ads for approx three weeks. It had numerous people viewing online and two potential buyers. Listed my Jaguar XJR manual on a Tuesday in the classified ads section for free, the car was sold, paid for and collected by Friday. CarandClassic make it easy to search for cars, the website is very user friendly for both buyers and sellers. Creating an ad, uploading photos is simple and it's all FREE! What's not to like!

I have used Car and Classic twice and have found them to be excellent ,the procedure to enter the car advert was easy to use and I got a quick sale.

I sold two vehicles recently within a week of posting getting almost the total asking price on both a G wagon and a vintage Moto Guzzi. This was my first use of the platform and it performed better than other sales platforms. So five stars from me.

Communication was the biggest factor in your service, for some unknown reason everybody in your office went on holiday for 3 days during and after the auction finished, then when you came back you sold the number plate for less than what i had suggested in an email directly after the auction. So all in all very poor.

Excellent , only slight criticism is there seems no way to contact team over the weekend .
