I've Never had a good experience here…

I've Never had a good experience here from opening savings account, to trying to open checking account with them online to trying to transfer to my out of state bank. Never got any of those things accomplished so now I no longer live on Hawaii and no branches outside the state, I am left with only option to transfer money to my bank is to use the few ATM's accepting of my card to pull out sometimes if I'm lucky up to $400.00 day PLUS fees minimum of $4.50 each Transaction then deposit it to new bank because BANK OF HAWAII won't set up or do transfers over the phone or allow me to open a checking account at their bank over the phone--as I've mentioned it won't work trying online. Noone Should Trust their Money with These People at This Bank.

I’m extremely disappointed with Bank of…

I’m extremely disappointed with Bank of Hawaii. After depositing $25,000 in cash from selling my car, I discovered they don’t allow external transfers out at all. I spent days trying to set up my external Bank of America account, only to find out from customer support that the feature simply doesn’t exist. The only option to move my own money is to schedule a wire transfer appointment with a $90 fee, and the earliest appointment is several days away. It feels absurd that in 2025, when most banks offer instant external transfers online, Bank of Hawaii forces customers to pay high fees and wait days just to transfer their own funds. This experience has been incredibly frustrating and stressful. I will be closing my account and do not recommend this bank to anyone.

My review is about Bank of Hawaii in…

My review is about Bank of Hawaii in general not any particular branch. My beef is they have all these “nickle and dime” fees so it seems like it costs me money to do anything with them. For example, the international ATM fee is $5 PLUS and 3% fee off the total you withdraw. Another example, if you write a check, they charge you $2.50 to give you a scanned image of your own check (which I didn’t even ask for). Paper statements are $3.25. You get the idea… They finally got a decent app interface (it was like using a fax machine to login to their online banking for years). And their call wait times are crazy! I requested a call back and got one almost 4 hours later! I guess at least they called me back. Oh and don’t even bother checking their interest rates- they are always much higher than any real bank will offer. The only reason I keep any money in there is to keep that account longevity on my credit report. Otherwise, BOH, we broke up a long long time ago!!

Head’s Up

When Judgement Day arrives Jesus will have a field day with this company I told Ms Margo Corliss on 5/24/24 I was expecting funds from Fidelity to be transferred in hopes she would help. That did not happen. Also on the week of July 3rd I noted that the Waikiki branch was open on June23 at 10:34pm and the building was wide open I addressed to the call center and the supervisor said he would talk to Ms Corliss and then that week I received statements that my transactions from 5/21/24 using my visa debit card were revoked so on July 4 I had to call all the vendors about this and highly recommend refrain from using them as an financial establishment. Stay AWAY

Bank of Hawaii has the worst phone service. It is substandard with terrible Menu options, no option for a call back, long wait times, music that will put you to sleep. They do not provide good customers service and I am serious when I say I am thinking of doing my Business Banking elsewhere!
