Ardingly College

Luglio 2025, 3 settimane presso Ardingly College.

Alpadia Paris Passy

I went to Alpadia Paris - Passy this summer. It was my first time in a language camp, and everything felt new but it ended up being really great experience. The staff members were nice and helpful, and the teachers made the lessons fun and interesting. I want to say a special thank you to one of the stuff members - Lyna. She was so kind and always made sure we were okay. Thank you so much

The Worse ever summer camp my daughter went to

My daughter was very excited to travel to Paris from June 29th to July 12th and stay at the summer camp at Reueil malmaison. She arrived on June 29th and was picked up by a supervisor and they went with a group of 4 other children to the camp. While they were going the driver was using his phone and smoking electronic cigarettes. When they arrived at destination no internet was on hence she had to use her own esim card. This issue was never solved untill we decided to remove her from the camp. She had forgotten her towel hence she could not take a shower. She asked for a temporally towel but they could not help so basically no shower. The next day she wasn't allowed to go and buy one and yet no towels could be given by the camp supervisor. On Tuesday July 1 the food that was served was horrible. They had promised fried, scrambled eggs but they had only cornflakes and jam and old bread. Water dispensers were not available throughout the camp and there was a heatwave. No one had thought of being pro-active and the children had to drink only during the operating hours of the canteen. I will also post some pictures of the food served and overall surroundings so parents cannot imagine how bad the conditions were. I will not even go into the so called French lessons as this was even worse than what I have just written. We decided to remove Annabelle from that camp and brought her back home. Many other children were upset and have also seen the WhatsApp messages and will also share them soon.

We attended a week of language camp for french

We attended a week of language camp for our son. He attends a grammar school and is in his first year of French as a second foreign language. We had hoped that after some initial difficulties he would experience a little boost so that he would understand the principles of the language better. Our conclusion - The initial language test is far too difficult. Speaking French quickly in dialogue - Around Easter, all language levels are put into one course. A challenge for teachers and students. We were promised that all levels would be adequately catered for. But by the second day, our son had already given up because when he pointed out that he didn't understand ‘anything’ or the task, they just shrugged their shoulders. Fortunately, things improved when we intervened. - A lot of emphasis is placed on language through speaking. This is good in itself, but only works from a certain language level upwards. Until then, it is more of a challenge than a learning booster. - Instead of systematically providing beginners with targeted vocabulary training and some writing exercises (not a single exercise was included in the learning booklet), beginners have to struggle along with the advanced learners. Conclusion: We definitely don't recommend the camp for beginners. And we dare to doubt whether it works any better for advanced learners. We won't be enrolling our son again.

Stage linguistico a Friburgo

Siamo molto soddisfatti e ritorneremo in futuro. Consigliato!

Worst homestay quality and unhelpful staff

Update: They say they can't find my name?? okay of course I am not using my full legal name online! If you care to check you'll know this actually happened. ----------------------------------------- I came to study German at this school. They paired me with a local German lady who lived not too far away. On the second day, before I left for school, I asked her for the key to my room. Her response shocked me: "You Asians seem to not trust people." She then refused to give me the room key—even though I had paid for the room and two meals for a month. For breakfast, she told us we could grab bread from the kitchen. But more often than not, the bread was moldy. I always ended up eating out—essentially paying for inedible food. Dinners were usually frozen meals—and again, I paid. We were not allowed to use the laundry machine, which was fine. However, I found it unfair that while she constantly asked me to collect my clothes after washing, another guest—a Swiss guy—always had his clothes neatly folded for him. One evening, she casually asked if I had any religion. When I said no, she instantly looked shocked and said, "Oh my gosh." Well, my religion—or lack of it—is none of her business. Even if I did have one, I had no obligation to discuss it with someone I wasn’t close to. I was in my early 20s, and this lady was around 50 or 60 years old. I was about 46 kg and 160 cm, while she was almost twice my size—what could I do? I reported it to the school’s reception, but they weren’t very helpful. They simply told me that there were still dormitory spots available in an expensive area near the embassy district around Brandenburg Gate. The most ridiculous part? After I reported these issues to the school, the host lady accused me of stealing her clothes! How hilarious! She was almost twice my size, and her age was nearly double mine—how could I have possibly stolen her clothes? I want to remind this school that the quality of its homestay selections directly affects its reputation. Many years have passed, yet every time I travel to Germany, this experience still comes to mind.

The German camp where no German is spoken

Our son did a German camp with Alpadia in summer 2024. Despite the camp being held in Germany, none of the staff were German and some of them had no german whatsoever. My son spoke better German than the staff. Other than the 3 hours of lessons a day, the camp was conducted in English, with no attempt by the assistants and staff to encourage german. The camp was also very bad value. The kids went out on organised trips everyday and consistently missed dinner time at the school. There was no question of dinner time being arranged to fit in with the students timetable. I could continue with plenty of other negatives. However, the main one is that a “language school” would market a German camp where no German is spoken and none if the staff, with the exception of the teacher, can speak German. Unbelievable.

Stay away from Alpadia

Stay away from Alpadia. My daughter went to Biarritz vor a language school. The staff and food is awful. They treat the kids like babies. The surf lessons have been good but thats the only good experience she had. She got really sick and now one took care of her. I had to take her out after a week because of this. It took her a long time to be healthy again and the school not even refunded us some money.

to flee

to flee! I participated this year 2024 at Woldingham school and during this stay we had the right to no freedom so no real time where we can share good times with friends because between each activity the free time is very short and the activities are very long, lousy, boring and you're not allowed to go out if you want. after the outings in London only lasts 1h30 for 1h30 of travel knowing that we go there 3 times a week doing the same things. the school also has soccer fields that we don't even use when we play soccer so we have to do it in a garden with scarves on the ground that outline the soccer cages. after the weekend the same rules are applied so curfews at 9:30 p.m. we are often punished for acts that never took place. And the lessons are not useful knowing that they do not know how to classify us in classes according to our level in English because it is either too hard or too easy and at the end they give you a certificate of your level in English which does not It's not yours. And there are still so many things that are wrong that I forget but one piece of advice: flee this company!!!!

Lies all Lies!

Lies all Lies! This past Summer I visited Paris – Passy camp. First of all, I want to mention that the other students were 10/10, but the staff was so unfriendly. We were always late to all activities and excursions (cause of the staff). So unorganized. The food at camp was literal garbage, so unhealthy and no proper options. The accommodation was definitely not as described on the Website. We had to share unhygienic dirty bathrooms and had our own (about 160 sq feet) rooms. These had old almost crumbling furniture with hard mattresses, and we didn’t even get real blankets. To sum up everything, it was horrible. Do not waste your money here, just find any other place.

Fantastic way to improve language and life skills

My 15 year old went to Freiburg for two weeks and loved it. His German improved but more than that his social skills blossomed. The staff were fantastic. A few years ago my other son went to Berlin with Alpadia for two years on the bounce. I would not hesitate to recommend the school for their professionalism and it’s an amazingly safe way to improve language skills. Fred did say that two weeks was enough one week not long enough … but that’s him. He’ll be going again next year that’s for sure

Alpadia Montreux rocks!

I am a retired person and I enjoy combining learning experiences to my travel retinue. In August 2022, I attended a 4-week French course at Alpadia Language School in Montreux, Switzerland. I chose the Montreux location for its famed scenery and I was not disappointed. And neither was I with the school, indeed everything about it is superlative - the location, the classrooms and facilities, the staff and faculty. They employ sound pedagogical techniques - interactive, never a dull moment and made effective use of audio-visuals to enhance the learning experience. I had the fortune of having enthusiastic and inspiring teachers - Nicolas and Charline. The staff - particularly Marie - were very helpful and addressed all my concerns. The housing arrangement was also a big plus of the experience. I had some issues with registration but this was addressed very admirably by the big boss himself - Ugo Toselli. Overall, the Alpadia Montreux experience was superbly enriching.

Mangiare estremamente scadente e in poca quantità.
