We were fortunate to get Adrian
We were fortunate to get Adrian - ref 1589 - in response to our call to a breakdown on the M65 (or just off, as we were able to limp to a service area). He arrived at the time predicted, and spent a while trying a couple of things to identify the problem, but came to the conclusion that we needed workshop attention and spare parts (alternator & timing belt bearings, probably). He tried a couple of local garages, but it was near closing time and the British GP was drawing their staff to the event that weekend. However, we had a recommendation from our niece near Skipton (our destination) of the garage that looks after her car. Although it was near the end of the day, Adrian felt that it wouldn't be good to leave us to await another patrol for the onward recovery, so he hitched up the car and took us and it to Skipton. It meant that we arrived maybe three hours later than our original intention, but that felt pretty good to us, and we were very grateful. A very nice and helpful chap!
