I would leave a zero if I could
I would leave a zero if I could. They contacted my elderly mother about a claim in Jan 2024. To date she has heard nothing from them and I mean nothing. No letter, no phone call no email. I contacted them a year in and it was like pulling teeth. They do not keep any body in the loop. Do not use.

Professional and empathetic
Receiving the call from Eileen Lavelle last summer regarding the passing of a family member was a complete shock and initially I was quite sceptical. However there was no need for my concern as Eileen showed extreme professionalism, efficiency and empathy at all stages of the process. Emma Hinds from Wolsey Probate, was also extremely efficient and understanding. I received my cheque last week and I would like to thank both Eileen and Emma for all their efforts.

The company were researching a family…
The company were researching a family which included my grandmother who died just after my father was born. We knew nothing about her and Eileen Lavelle has been kind enough to pass on some details which have been invaluable to my family history. I am very grateful for her kindness and help.

Knowledgeable and Sympathetic - Highly Recommended
I was contacted by various genealogical companies regarding an unclaimed estate, but Lisa Hill from Anglia Research was the only one who had investigated our family tree in depth and correctly. She was also so much more sympathetic and understanding of our very difficult family situation than the other companies. Lisa went above and beyond to help us, and I cannot thank her enough.

A great service delivered with sensitivity and compassion
Chloe from Anglia Research contacted me on behalf of a recently deceased relative. It was quite a complex case as he appeared to have died without any instructions being left about what should happen to his estate after his death. As it turned out instructions have been left and with Chloe’s help we were able to sort out what was going on. In everything Chloe went above and beyond what was necessary, contacting the local authority, the coroner‘s office, and then finally the firm of solicitors who had been commissioned. She went out of her way to keep me informed and what could’ve been a distressing and complicated problem was resolved smoothly. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Probate…
I contacted Anglian Research services as I needed to find relatives to complete probate matters. I spoke with Christopher, who was absolutely amazing, he helped and guided me and was very understanding, professional, speedy and accurate. Honestly, I can't thank him enough for helping me through what was already a difficult time. I highly recommend this company. Thank you again, I really appreciate your help.

Great service
I was contacted out of the blue by Eileen. At first I was sceptical that it may be a scam but after a little research and speaking to Eileen it was evidently genuine. Everything was explained in clear terms and backed up in writing thereafter. I can’t fault the service I received they dealt with everything and it was concluded in 6 months. I was delighted to receive a cheque at the end which I otherwise would not have received. Eileen was also very helpful sending details of the family tree and how to apply for certificates for other family members.

Unexpected benefit
This contact came out of the blue and was about a distant relative we had only vaguely heard of. Anglia were very professsional and obviously good at researching these matters, so we were pleased to work with them and in due course receive a share of the inheritance. We did not have to provide any confidential information, so we felt safe providng what little we knew.

It took more than 2 distressing years to sort out!
It took over 2 years to sort out probate on my brother's death, was called out of the blue by Anglian told me my brother was dead! shocked... anyway they did attempt to contact the remaining 8 of us, I will say as we were all in care and experienced abusive and horrible times, that this has dredged it all up again - this went on for over 2 years. Then when money was paid it was not all split up amongst those who actually applied - there is a balance left - they do not tell you this bit? Always having to chase up for something that I did not initiate, then received less than expected... opening a can of worms, of emotional distress for a small sum, worth it, what do you think?

Outstanding, professional service
From my first interaction with Christopher from Anglia I knew I was in very safe hands. As an executor of my Parents' will I needed to track down a beneficiary who had lost touch with the family over twenty years ago. It was a difficult situation and for me and Christopher was professional, courteous and clearly understood the sensitivity of the situation managing it thoughtfully and carefully. Communication was outstanding throughout the process and the matter was managed efficiently and with consideration and kindness. I had searched by myself for several years without results and Christopher dealt with the matter within days with the beneficiary receiving their inheritance successfully. I cannot recommend this service highly enough and am so very glad that I made that first call.

Still not impressed! Sept 2023-April 2025
Following initial contact by Matthew and returning my proof of identity. I received no other contact. A few weeks later my sister informed me of the progress having spoken to Matthew. The last we heard was that he had found a number of possible recipients and it was likely to take up to six months to finalise. This last communication was well over 8 months ago. In the meantime I have emailed Matthew three times and not had any response at all. Having contacted info@Anglian research rather than an individual and having written this review I have had a request by Anglian to provide them with further information to validate who I am which I have provided. I await a response. Following contact through Trust Pilot Anglian contacted me through their customer services.Then nothing. I contacted them again (9th Jan 2025) asking to speak to a different director. I was reassured by this one that the research was now complete, (I know we are not talking vast sums of money). Then to be told it’s all with the Finance dept, that they will be paying out at the latest by the end of February and to still not have received anything not even written notice of settlement and we are now in April, leaves one wondering about competence, honesty and principles.

Eileen was very friendly and…
Eileen was very friendly and informative from her first contact to finalisation. When I first got a call I was hesitant that it was bonified but she confirmed everything. Whilst I did not receive a fortune, it was extremely interesting to receive my family tree as to where the inheritance came from. I would not hesitate to recommend Anglia Research.

I was contacted by Olivia regarding an unclaimed estate from a distant relative! Olivia was unbelievably helpful in any unanswered questions I had and she also found the right people to inherit the unclaimed estate! (It wasn’t me) I found this company very professional in what they do and was happy that the right people got the inheritance. Highly recommend
