Got charged 30 quid to cancel policy the day it started. Tried to cancel before it even started and was not able to as the site was down for Maintanance and it was out of their opening times. Disappointed that I have been left out of pocket for a service that I didn’t need or use.

Policy Review – Sheila’s Wheels Car Insurance (Policy No. 91354976) I’ve been a loyal customer of Sheila’s Wheels for 3 years, but my latest renewal experience has been shocking. My previous premium was £850.97, yet my renewal quote jumped to an eye-watering £987.96 – an increase of £137 for exactly the same details. The quote was based on the same information as last year – nothing had changed. When I queried this by email, they came back with a so-called “better deal” that was just £10 less. Meanwhile, Martin Lewis’s website reports that car insurance prices have actually dropped by around 16%, yet Sheila’s Wheels thought it was fair to increase mine by 16%. Out of curiosity, I checked MoneySuperMarket – and Sheila’s Wheels quoted me £774.76. Even the AA came in cheaper by around £20, at £756.40. The lesson? Never renew directly with Sheila’s Wheels. They tried to overcharge me by more than 32% compared to their own quote on a comparison site. Loyalty clearly doesn’t pay with them.
