Quality material

Shaw Academy is a quality, affordable learning platform. I don’t know if they still have the promotion, but I began the Master’s program about 5 years ago. The course selection is diverse. The self-paced program can add new material before completing a course. It is not a complaint as we get more valuable content because they keep up-to-date. Just know you may not complete the course by the time you anticipate. The professors are very knowledgeable, yet a few of them have been quite casual and sarcastic towards students, and it can be hurtful at times. On the other hand they and customer service answer questions in a speedy manner, and sometimes even during class. The most difficult parts about working with the Academy for me is understanding what they say and building an educational relationshipa, because the staff changes frequently. Overall, Shaw Academy has been changing for the better and is a great value for the degrees and certifications earned. It pays to grow with them. This review is based on my genuine experience. Happy learning!

Very informative and learn at your own pace

Great learning too i would recommend the new platform as there's new changes to the entire system as compared to the time when it was under old Shaw academy management. I have faced an issue of courses being slightly different due to account migration from Shaw academy to Upskillit, however the overall experience its tip top im doing my financial market diploma and its so informative.

Different name, same scam.

Changed name from Shaw Academy to Upskillist and once again cheated people out of their hard earned money. Wake up people, all positive reviews on here are totally fake, this is a SCAM company and for some reason Trust Pilot are still allowing them a platform to cheat people to this day. Do not use this company! You have been warned. Based on my own personal experience..

Avoid avoid avoid

I have written down the text for you. Here it is: "It's a genuine review. I don't usually give negative reviews. Shaw Academy changed the platform without notifying customers and also transferring the account wasn't easy. It kept redirecting me to free sign-up and minimal content instead of the purchased course. It took 2 weeks of communication to get it resolved. The issue was finally resolved, but it took a lot of back-and-forth emails and wasted time, so I'm giving it 3 stars."

Scam

Absolutely Scam. Just look for their unclean famous name on scam alert websites. Before saying how they stole money from me let me, I'll tell you how to notice and avoid scam websites like this. Look for contact or support page on their website. If there's none, as Shaw academy, Walk away as fast as possible. Before giving them your bank card info. They are scam artists. I was charged 15 dollars for so to say recorded courses. Unfortunately they had my banking info so they withdraw money out of my card each two weeks. despite me trying hard to reach out to them. an impossible thing to do. they're unreachable. No trace of a contact number or email on their website. I wanted to cancel my sub but it took more than 10 pages of new offers and bull crap to get me to the canceling page. but it was far from over. They never canceled. They even called me. A woman asking me if I want to buy a new course. As soon as she notices i dont want it to she went agressive and hung up on me. Just walk away if you dont want your money to get rubbed online. I wonder how they are still working and advertising. 4 stars!!! it is fake. it their own reviews. Edit: Now they have replied and have asked me for my personal information again. imagine me falling for that again. This is their last strategy. . Hey, You stole my money how dare you ask for my personal information again. It's ‌even mentioned on shaw academy's Wikipedia page, how you force students to write positive reviews on trustpilot and remove their negative reviews. I don't need your reply here and don't need the poems and nice words you're writing here. Who believes that! You stole the money of tens of thousands of people in pandemic and isolation era and made them lose hope in learning programing. There are big petitions against you. You'll be held Accountable. We will get to you.

Upskillist online educational site rebranding from Shaw Academy site, doesn’t result in a seamless migration of courses, course progress or ensure uninterrupted continuation of learning endeavours

I originally joined Shaw Academy in 2019 to undertake a Foundation Trading course. The course supposedly consisted of live online tutorials and practical sessions, mainly via PowerPoint presentations. However, the live sessions were recordings viewable online only. The PowerPoint presentation and supplementary notes were available to download. The Foundation Trading course content was structured to promote the more expensive advanced premium Ultimate Traders Programme (UTP) and sold as a special offer for lifetime membership to Shaw Academy courses and the UTP; which included access to regular trading seminars and trading tools, plus exclusive use of the UTP MT4 Indicator and Trade Sizer products, and ongoing technical support. I purchased the lifetime membership & UTP course offer, the content of which also heavily promoted a partnership link with Let's Trade Brokers. As my interest is in trading, I subsequently did additional courses: • The Foundation Diploma in Financial Trading and Investment • Diploma in Gold Investment • Diploma in Cryptocurrency Overall, all the courses and video content were good and informative, and I’ve valued the ability to continue to access the courses online and revise the content regularly. However, with no notice over recent years, Shaw Academy has withdrawn access to the Foundation Trading course and support for the UTP MT4 Indicator and Trade Sizer, which no longer work. Weeks of emailing their support desk and getting mostly automated unhelpful replies can be summarised as they no longer support these courses or products. No similar alternatives were offered. This was further compounded when earlier this month (March 24), I received an email from Shaw Academy stating: … We hope this email finds you well. As a cherished student of Shaw Academy, we're thrilled to unveil some exciting news. In line with our rebranding efforts, we're delighted to introduce you to Upskillist – our new identity that encompasses everything you've come to love about Shaw Academy and more. With a user-friendly interface and enriched educational resources, we're confident that Upskillist will revolutionize your learning journey. To facilitate a smooth transition, we kindly request you to take a moment to register on the Upskillist platform using the same email address you utilised for Shaw Academy. This will enable us to seamlessly migrate your course progress and account particulars, ensuring the uninterrupted continuation of your learning endeavours. As requested, I registered on the Upskillist platform using my Shaw Academy site details, expecting all my existing courses and the content to be seamlessly migrated to the new platform; however, only the Cryptocurrency course was transferred. Again, I engaged in a very frustrating series of emails with their support dept to try to regain access to the courses; however, the responses from Upskillist (AKA Shaw Academy) support have morphed from: … to clarify that we maintain separate databases for each website to ensure data integrity and prevent any mixing of information. All data related to Shaw Academy courses, including progress and resources, are stored securely in our database. If you have already completed any courses or are in the midst of studying, rest assured that your progress and results are recorded accurately. However, if you encounter any discrepancies or issues, please don't hesitate to reach out to us for further assistance. We recommend restarting your courses on our Upskillist platform to ensure a seamless learning experience and access to all relevant resources. To: … the following courses, "Foundation Diploma in Financial Trading and Investment", "Ultimate Trading Program" and "Diploma in Gold Investment" have been removed from our repository. As a result, you will not find them on Upskillist as they have become obsolete… Upskillist/Shaw Academy has not delivered on its promise to seamlessly migrate my legacy courses or ensure the uninterrupted continuation of my learning endeavours on their new site. At the very least, they should maintain access to the paid-for legacy courses, especially for existing clients who had access to the Shaw Academy courses before registering and being transferred to the Upskillist platform. Only one of my five original courses survives. Upskillist’s offered solution was that I could sign up for other available courses; however, the issue is that they are not currently offering other equivalent trading courses. To date, I’m very frustrated and disappointed with the customer care and service received from Upskillist and feel compelled to share my experience on Trust Pilot, as I expect I’m not the only person that this has happened to.

Legitimate Learning Site

I paid for a lifetime membership around 2017, and still access it. Recently I couldn't log in, this happened once before, and I was able to get it fixed. I was unaware they had migrated to a new site. They recently changed their name to "Upskillist" and upgraded the site, which probably generated the complaints. I contacted the support center through the site page. I received a reply with clear and concise instructions how to migrate my account to the new site. Everything was easy and went smoothly. Navigation at the site is much better and no more annoying pop-ups soliciting diploma certificates of completion. I found Shaw Academy with a 'Groupon' for their "Diploma in Photography Class”. I was impressed with the seemingly personal way classes were delivered live. They even gave away a [Canon or Nikon] DSLR camera on-air during one of the classes. Another time, at the end of one of the classes, ‘William Eames’ announced a one-time chance to get a lifetime membership (~$500USD), I jumped on it. At the time, they only had a few courses available, but reassured new ones will be added. The site was/is geared for subscription [courses], originally targeting photographers. Thay have since expanded well beyond photography. I'm retired and mostly use Upskillist to better my skills and expand my knowledge, not for college or business but for self-improvement. I consider myself a slow 'information-absorber' and often retake a course to help me understand things better. Price for courses were (still are?) a la carte. As I mentioned- lifetime members were given full access to all and future courses. For at least 7 years now, they have been true to their word, dozens of new courses have been added over the years. In January 2019, I received an email from SA advertising- "Get a Masters Level Qualification [Photography] for you and Lifetime membership for you and 3 Friends Only $125!". I paid for it, but was unable to recruit 3 friends :-(. Later in the year, I inquired when the course was expected to be available, I was told "it was coming". Shortly after, I suffered a series of life altering events and I forgot about it. When I finally returned, and saw the Masters Level course never happened. I then assumed they had kept my advance payment which caused me to post a review reflecting my displeasure. My fault for not trying to contact support before posting a bad review. **UPDATE** With the reply from support below, you can see they are on top of my problem. I have been attending classes at Upskillist’s new website and am quite pleased how it has been streamlined from the old. I’m impressed they are refunding my years-old advance payment for the Masters class that was scrapped. I had been told, “it failed to meet the standards they wanted to achieve”. Because they always addressed my issues favorably, as well as the improvements and added classes to the new website, I changed my rating from 1 star to 5 stars. My experiences are based on what it was like in their infancy, and how it has evolved. I really do think this is a good site to learn real-world skills from experienced people, designed to fit any schedule, presented in a no-nonsense way. I cannot wait to dive into some of the newly added classes. Upskillist has been true to their word. I edited and deleted a lot of my original claims in this review, they were inaccurate assumptions. IMO it is admirable they decided to cancel a class that could not measure up to expected standards, rather than roll out something just to attract more money. The only fly-in-the-ointment was how they failed to notify me and/or offer restitution then. Either way, they are making good now. To me, it would have still been worth it if only I was able to find 3 more friends to become lifetime members back then too. The site has grown and me with them. Upskillist is a legitimate learning site. As for it being recognized towards college credit, I cannot speak for that, for me it is unimportant. To find out the recognition level of all the courses, I recommend doing the research. I look forward to furthering myself and growth of knowledge with Upskillist. -Scott Irvin - Ellington, CT, U.S.A.

Great way to learn new skills

Really enjoying the course. Good, clear instructions which push you enough to stretch your learning with each lesson. Pace is just right and results really do reflect the time you invest.

Its no doubt a scam

Its a scam, honestly I thought they would have been caught years ago. They charged me 40 euros a month for about 5 months, when I realized they would not give me a refund, they were offering a lifetime subscription. I have tried to get my 200 euros refunded, siNce I did not receive any confirmations and the email had .coN. Ps: it took me five months to notice because the credit card was from an account from the previous country I lived in. Trustpilot also erased my review.

I would not trust Shaw Academy

I would not trust Shaw Academy, You're better off choosing professional development from The CPD Standards Office ... Shaw Academy do not appear here ... look at CPD Standards Had to call twice to cancel my membership, also asked for a phone number to ring and get a refund. The first time, an advisor stated that's not possible - they're working remotely from home and don't have access to phones. The second time, an advisor stated they only operate over email as my email address is attached to my account. Both times, the advisor was able to locate my account from the mobile number I was calling from, they made it really difficult to get a refund. Further to this, their website is focused on coercion and deceit, 'one click' purchases dominate their website in effort to swiftly take your money. When you ask for a refund over email they aim to coerce you into coming back, offering free trials, free 'learning' for your benefit which is very intimidating. adding in this review again as it was deleted back in 2020.

RUN. IT'S SCAM!

I signed up for a free trial, and then received a phone call. On the phone the person asked me, if I would like to receive FREE resources and FREE courses for FREE. I said yes, and then my card was charged over $100. When I realized that, I was confused and called support. The agent said refund was not an option. I ended up disputing this charge with my bank and the anti-fraud department handled it and gave my money back. I would give 0 stars if this is allowed on TrustPilot. Why is this scam company still in business? Also, I left the same comment 2 years ago and it was somehow removed. So I added it back.
