I have bought four car seats from Safe Journey Car Seats and have always received excellent service and remote advice. I feel confident that my children are travelling in the safest possible way and know I can always send a message to the team if I have any questions, particularly relating to ERF.

Not great customer service sadly

Ordered a grey avionaut max space hbb seat which was described as new but with an opened box so slightly reduced in price. The website stated ‘free next day delivery’ which was excellent as I needed the seat fairly soon for a trip. I see since I ordered that the website has now been changed to ‘free next day delivery on MOST car seats’ it did not say this when I placed my order but glad this has been changed now to avoid other customers having the same experience I did. A day later I received an invoice for an extra £20 for shipping costs to Northern Ireland. No where on the website did it state there would be an additional charge. NI is in the UK not Ireland. I emailed back to query this and was ignored. As I hadn’t received a response I paid the additional fee as I really needed the seat quickly. I received a shipping notification the next day. After checking the tracking link a number of times it still stated my order hadn’t actually shipped. I emailed to query this a week later and received no response. I then left a comment on instagram a few days later to try and receive a response, my comment was deleted but I was sent a quite curt dm and was told emails aren’t monitored daily and that I should have used social media to contact?! I was then told that apparently my order had been shipped but that it just hadn’t been scanned by dpd and that this happens sometimes. (the order still hasn’t arrived nearly a month later so I find this a little unlikely) I was told an investigation with dpd had been opened but I could have a black car seat instead. I responded explaining I’d specifically needed grey please as black fabric gets too hot in the summer and received no response back. I had to chase for a response a week later to be offered a completely different seat than I’d ordered or pay a higher price for a different colour than black?! At this point I requested a refund to allow me to order the correct seat at a different retailer. I was then offered to preorder the seat in grey from a batch arriving in at some point in the future but declined this as I’d lost faith in this retailer due to the experience above and had ran out of time to wait for a preordered seat as it was now 3 weeks after my initial order was placed. I totally appreciate that some parcels go missing, that’s just life but it was the lack of customer service, communication or even an apology which I found very disappointing. I sadly wouldn’t recommend ordering from this retailer, particularly if you’re based in NI and I can see from other trust pilot reviews I’m sadly not the only one who’s had an experience like this.

Patience and Amazing After Care

We’ve been loyal to Safe Journey Car Seats for so long, I’m starting to suspect they know my kids’ growth spurts better than I do. We’ve bought three seats so far—first the Axkid One 2 for our eldest, then the Axkid Move for our panel van (because apparently vans have strong opinions), and now the Britax Römer Kidfix Pro high-back booster. At this rate, we’ll still be buying from them when the kids are packing for university. When the One 2 moved on to little brother, Safe Journey didn’t just wave us off—they kept checking the fit like proud seat godparents. Finding someone who understands ERF in a panel van felt impossible, but Sarah not only found the perfect (Axkid) Move, she also gave us an installation masterclass (with saint-like patience). And then came the high-back booster emergency. I’m that mum who researches until my eyes cross, but Safe Journey calmly answered every question—even from a distance. People assume high-back boosters are straightforward, but they still need proper fitting. Thankfully, Safe Journey’s after-sales care is just as rock-solid (and reassuring) as their seats.

Excellent Service

I have now bought 4 car seats from Safe Journey Car seats. When our daughter was just a year old we realised our current seats were not safe. A quick trip to visit and buy a new seat which was fitted and a great demonstration given on how to use! We then have bought 3 more since online, chatting in-between about getting the correct seat for our growing daughter and they are always so quick to reply to my never ending messages about fit as she grows! I have recommended to many friends across the country and will continue to - Thanks for all your help.

I bought 2 x Axkid Nextkid off safe…

I bought 2 x Axkid Nextkid off safe journey car seats and I’m absolutely thrilled with them. The delivery, service and product has been fantastic. I now feel that I can drive around knowing both my children are safe. Both children have said the seats are very comfy which is a bonus. I definitely recommend buying from this company if you want good communication and service with top quality products.

Axkid One 2

I was thrilled to buy an ex demo car seat (for my 16 month old so I can ERF until 7 years) as a new one is way out of budget. I asked immediately if the insert was included but a day later I was told the seat would be shipped and the insert would be sent separately at a later date (at my expense). I’d not be able to use the car seat without the insert. I asked for the seat to be shipped to an address in England within 10 days (explained the reason and not an unreasonable time frame) but shipping was left until last minute (a week after payment) and then I was told DPD hadn’t collected so it would never have arrived. Didn’t hear anything for a week until I chased with my address in Northern Ireland (UK) and asked about the insert again. I received a short message back saying it would be £40 for postage. After very little communication over 2 weeks whilst holding my money, all of sudden I received instant replies to my messages. I felt like I was left with little choice but to ask for my money back as I lost faith I was ever going to receive a seat that was safe to use. The customer service was really disappointing. I was being made to feel that because I had only paid £250 for an ex demo seat that I was expecting too much by asking for the insert that would make the seat safe for my 16 month old to use and was being told postage would be £40 adding to the total price of the seat when it could have been avoided if it had been sent on time. At no point did I receive an apology just a flippant ‘let me know your details so I can refund you and get the seat sold again today’. (I don’t live in Ireland, I live in the U.K. we should add - and am happy to pay postage if I choose to but since I was visiting England I thought it was reasonable to have it sent there to be able to use it during our visit and return with it (for free on the plane). How dare I try and make a cost saving in the current climate. I thought 10 days was more than enough for something to arrive with 1 day DPD but obviously too much to ask. Oh, and even if it had arrived I’d have not been able to use it as it would have been completely UNSAFE without the insert. But thanks for taking the time to reply :) )

Awful customer service

Awful customer service. I reached out due to the seat breaking (not in an accident literally broke threading a seat belt through) was told they’ll contact manufacturer, perfect. No response so I have to keep coming back for them to either ignore me or say nothing back. I have then contacted the manufacturer myself and the response time was not well over a month, was actually rather speedy considering. When a customer reaches out you should follow up and help not ignore, would not recommend for overall experience.

Appalling customer service

Appalling customer service. Purchased a seat back in February. Had a very hard time installing it, asked for help, for her to come out and help me install, just kept giving me remote advice. Needed physical help. Fast forward to now, having a hard time reinstalling it, refused to come out and help,I explained my disability was preventing me from installing it. Was told that I need to try and install it myself. Have tried for numerous hours to install it. I have done nothing but try! Disabilty discrimination at its finest. Their website says they do home appointments but, was told they only do that if booked prior to purchase!

Excellent service.

Asked for advice on the best car seat for my baby girl, gave her weight and height and was given a choice of the best seats for her, ordered the seat on Tuesday and received it the following day, the car seat is top class much like the service.

More great service from Sarah!

I just had to write a review for Sarah at safe journey car seats for once again fixing not one but 2 minikid 2s!! She fixed one a while ago for me, which was then replaced, by her after an accident and all has been well for a couple of years until something else broke, same part on both seats 🫣, and they are now both repaired 7 days after first finding the fault on the first seat and reporting it on the Monday! Thankyou so much for that Sarah, my daughter is happy again to have her blue seat back ! Thankyou so much ❤️

Still don't have my item

It has been nearly a month since my order (9th December) and I still don't have the product. I did have a reply to my message on the 18th December saying there had been a delay in shipping and the orders were being processed however I still don't have it and it still says it hasn't been shipped. I messaged again on the 3rd January and I had an automated response but nothing else until this morning getting an email to review the purchase!! I appreciate my order is not of massively high value and it has been Christmas but I was not aware I was pre-ordering an out of stock item, was not informed of a delay until I asked and since being told it's in stock have still not had the item despite it being advertised that last delivery for Christmas was after the arrival of the stock

I am missing a Isofix base which they have said was dispatched but they will get another to me - the order was 5 weeks ago - they are ignoring emails and Facebook messenger messages. I am now asking for my mo et back and still no reply.

Highly recommend

Absolute life saver Sarah is! I’ve not bought my seats through her but when I was moving my car seat to a different car I misplaced one of my tethers and I needed a new set asap! Sarah allowed me to collect a set of tethers from her house the following morning as she was local from me instead of me having to order online and wait 3-5 days. Highly grateful xx

Delivery in less than 24 hours and great service!

I had been eyeing up an ERF seat for some time now, specifically from Safe Journey Car Seats as they were a nearby retailer and also had some great prices/reviews so I felt I could trust I would receive an excellent product and good aftercare. I wasn't disappointed at all, I finally bit the bullet and purchased one of the "open box" sale Axkid One2 for an absolute bargain (not that you can put a price on your child's life, it just so happened I saw the advertisement for the sale at around the same time I was looking to purchase anyway!). I ordered the seat around 8am on Monday and by 7.30am on Tuesday it was delivered, which is just amazing service! I messaged Safe Journey Car Seats on Tuesday afternoon for a fit check and they responded promptly which was brilliant. I bought the Axkid One 2 in Sea Blue and it is absolutely beautiful, excellent quality. I am so pleased!
