Sabre Pet Food Reviews

We received our package from courier, as per normal, having ordered in advance of us running out. A few days later we then opened the box to have over half the bag spill onto the utility room floor. Due to other detritus / contamination potentially on the floor we felt it couldn’t be used so we had no choice but to chuck away. I wrote to customer services explaining that I didn’t think that was good enough; in terms of the poor packaging and the standard of the product when leaving the depot and perhaps that they should have a word with their couriers. Clearly these packages are treated as you’d probably expect. I never mentioned a refund just that I thought it was poor; considering cost. The customer services team did come back very promptly and politely but quickly said that as it hadn’t been reported within 3 days of receipt then that was just tough. Like many people I suspect we don’t order dog food the day when we run out, we order in advance of us running out for obvious reasons. It’s no surprise - to me anyway - that packages perhaps might be unopened for a few days. The speed of the response around sorry, you didn’t tell us quick enough was a clear message to me that this is a stock and probably regular complaint. I hadn’t mentioned anything about a refund but they said they wouldn’t very quickly so don’t even think about asking, as it were. So all in all having been very happy I’m not so sure we are any more and in a competitive space like dog food, I would suggest perhaps the company be a bit more consumer focused and understanding. And probably need to review who they use for delivery.

A joke of a company. Messed up my order and delivery times on multiple occasions, causing me to have to drive half an hour last minute to get dog food to hold me over until my (what was supposed to be) recurring subscription was delivered. They couldn't have cared less. Any response by them below will just be some BS, because they took no steps to ensure their loyal customers got their orders on time.

My review is for Sabre Ireland. When they had a supply problem with my subscription order they went "above and beyond" to help me out. They also sent me free samples for my dogs to try out. Can't praise them enough.

I started using DARF for my 3 dogs, the price & quality is fantastic. I had an order on subscription that was out of stock, was quickly notified it would be the following week to receive but was given alternative options. 3 days later my order was on its way! Customer service is v quick. I jumped on to raw for a couple of months but didn't work well for my active dogs. No issue transitioning them back on this and VERY empty bowls!

Absolutely fantastic site for finding high quality products that my fussy dog absolutely loves. Will definitely be using this site again.

Never Buy from Sabre Pet food. We purchased 12kgx7 bags of alpha spirit wild fish, we found lots of plastic pieces inside the food. ( as u guys know, seen many same reviews) . We provide then pictures and dates but they don’t want to pay for the refund. Our dog has problem with his stomach( we paid for allergy test and everything we coulnd’t find out with our vet what can be the issue ) then we stopped this food and he is fine now . ( we still on wild fish but from other website and other brand. We gonna post the pictures and emails everywhere as we have lots of followers on tiktok and indtagram. U will able to search is ( Sabre Pet Food- Be aware) . Im promise u will able to search it because of the amount of views etc. ) this website is a ***

Placed order on Thursday paid with my card. Delivered Friday by DPD . Well packaged happy dog happy me, what’s not to like.

Absolutely amazing site. They stock very high quality brands at reasonable prices. The darf is fantastic as are all the Alpha Spirit. I wasted my money for years buying expensive but poor quality food. My dogs have gone from doing 4 poos a day to 2 a day. The freeze dried raw kibble is easy to digest and both my dogs behaviour have changed for the positive. I compete with both dogs and the intensity they have for training has dramatically increased after Alpha spirit. I've pretty much got my orders next day which makes planning ahead really easy. I would advise anyone I met to use this site. Oh and on a side note I see people in the reviews mentioning legumes or peas as a dangerous ingredient. There has been very very limited research done on their effects but at such low levels I highly doubt the negative impact of legumes. If you are worried stick to Alpha Spirit that contain none at all. Regardless a 5 star site that I will use over and over again.

There are some very good foods sold here, like Darf Complete, which I have nothing but positive reviews for. However, Sabre is now selling Orygo, a brand that advertises Legumes as a main ingredient. You can very easily google “legumes and DCM in dogs” and find that legumes are poisonous to dogs. They block dogs from absorbing taurine which causes heart failure! Numerous reports from vets and studies support this. The studies that claim to disprove it are biased and unreliable (very small sample size, very short length of time to observe effects which may take a long time to show up in a dog’s health, etc). Just to do a good deed, I emailed Sabre. The customer service person was clearly out of her depth so she copied in their very arrogant on staff veterinarian who had never read the reports and made no effort to do the research. Instead of saying “thank you for bringing this to our attention, we will do our due diligence and look into this,” he very rudely shot back that he’s “satisfied” that legumes are safe for dogs. I highly endorse Darf Complete. And you can only buy it from Sabre, unfortunately. But I may go back to Markus Muhle just to avoid supporting such arrogant, ignorant incompetence. Do your own due diligence and research legumes and DCM in dogs. Avoid any dog food with peas or other legumes as a main ingredient.

Hayley is a superstar! This company do extremely generous samples of great quality food and all you have to do is pay for the postage. There was a little hiccup with mine but this was resolved really quickly. Really lovely, genuine, human-feeling service. They don’t make them like this any more! Thank you :)

I honestly love this company! I order pet food with a subscription and it arrives on time and cheaper than elsewhere. I have also accidentally double ordered and the customer service was fabulous. Cancelled one of the orders and confirmed quickly.

Had an excellent experience so far when ordering food for our dog on two occasions. Speedy delivery with items always arriving next day with DPD. Can’t complain.

I've been using Sabre pet food to supply my 3 dogs for the last 18 months. All through perfect customer service. Always on time quick delivery also great communication. I have a subscription if I need to change delay or bring forward it's done promptly. Great company and products

The service provided by this company is second to none. Provided you place an order before 2:00 p.m., without fail, the order is delivered by DPD the following day. Customer services are always available on the telephone, and you are not left waiting in a queue. If you do encounter an issue, they move mountains to sort it out without any form of quibble. It's too early to rate the dog food I purchased, however, It's the only brand I've managed to find that doesn't add a nasty, artificial mineral pack to the recipe. Such mineral packs often include suspected carcinogenic additives.
