I would really recommend volunteering in Cuzco with Proyecto Peru

I was in Cuzco with PMGY and Proyecto Peru for almost four weeks and I’m still leaving this place wishing I had more time here. I did the Animal Sanctuary Project which is a very magical and peaceful place and stayed in a peruvian hostfamily and I truly had a great time. Everyone I encountered was incredibly helpful and nice and made me feel welcome. The organization from Proyecto Peru works very well, I felt taken care of and in addition got to enjoy free social activities to meet other participants. Also both the host family and the people working at the sanctuary like Yeremi and Jose were welcoming and taught us a lot, not just anything imaginable about the animals but also plenty of lessons about the culture and life here and helped me to improve my spanish. Since there were many festivities and we were free to not come on these days, my time working in the project was a bit shorter than booked but honestly, that was an advantage for me because I got to go on many tours and trips and discover almost all the amazing main sights around the area. I’m not a city person or someone who returns to the same travel destination but as I’m leaving I can’t wait to be back one day and I would recommend anyone to do the same.

Geweldige ervaring gehad

My place in the world

Proyecto Peru is an exciting and memorable experience, I keep great memories about that time there. Also, the people who I met become my friends or even who I call Family.

I volunteered and followed Spanish lessons with Proyecto Peru, and it was really perfect, the staff is so friendly and caring. I improved so much in only one week of lessons, would really recommend it. Same for the volunteering, I was in the wildlife project and they really care about the animals, all of them have a special story.

Wonderful organization - highly recommend!

Had a lovely experience with this program! I chose to do medical volunteering in Cusco and walked away learning a lot. Not only did my Spanish improve from being in a culturally immersive atmosphere, but I gained valuable experience working in clinical settings. Staying with a wonderful host family made my experience all the better! Overall highly recommend.

Perfect for families and teachers

There are two parts to the review as we did not attend the language school portion. 1) The service and transparency provided by Proyecto Peru was without issue. All questions were answered in a timely manner and the homestay was exactly as pictured and described. This was/is a legit organization that provides support and connection for the volunteer project. 2) The volunteer project (Afterschool program) was an unforgettable experience for our family of 4 including two children ages 6 and 8. I highly recommend it for families. Two caregivers are ideal in case your children need a break (as ours did) and one parent can stay as a volunteer the whole time. Teachers that speak at least a basic level of Spanish would be an amazing help for this program. Don't hesitate to experience Cusco in a way most families never will.

An unforgettable experience

I came to Proyecto Peru to learn Spanish and volunteer with the children after school. I had an incredible experience over 5 weeks of being in Cusco. The Spanish teacher , Maria , was an incredible teacher. Thank to her way of teaching I learned a great amount of Spanish. Volunteering with the children of SAN Nicolas Urraca after school was an unforgettable experience. Every person showed kindness love and was incredibly helpful. Thank you Proyecto Peru for allowing me to be a great part of this experience

An Amazing School!

I came here and I had an amazing time. During the time I spent here, the PPC team were nice and extremely accommodating. I came with my university group, and was able to get extra credit towards my degree. I would, and do, recommend this place to all of my friends and family who plan to visit Peru in the future.

I had a great experience with Proyecto Peru. There is always a great support system with the Program Manager. Also, there are opportunities for relationships to be built due to projects and events held by the organization. I have no regrets, and I would change nothing about my experience!

We learned so much

My boyfriend and I spent a week learning Spanish at Proyecto Peru. Our teacher, Luz, was amazing! She was patient, friendly and funny and we learned so much in a short time. We wish we had longer - Gracias Luz and the Proyecto team!

Great experience

Great experience. My host family made me feel like I was at home and accepted me as one of their own. I shared many experiences with them, and got to meet others through them. I have made lasting genuine friendships here, and had a great experience at Club Corason De Niños. I got to play with the kids, and help teach English. Overall unforgettable experience, and my Spanish has improved so much

Great Experience Volunteering at Proyecto Peru!

For the past six weeks I have been volunteering with Proyecto Peru at the kindergarten and primary school, and I have had an amazing time. Everything is well-organized and the staff are friendly and helpful with coordinating timing and events. Also, it is a great way to get to know Cusco better and other volunteers through Proyecto Peru's many social events, from salsa classes to trivia to ATV riding. In addition to volunteering, I also took Spanish lessons which were very informative and helpful, which I also enjoyed.

Wonderful exprience with Proyecto Peru

My experience with Proyecto Peru was super great. I did a project to take care of the wildlife in a sanctuary. I like having people willing the help me get used to the country and they help solve the problem I encounter really fast. The weekly activity is super useful to meet new people of the same age and having good times. I really recommend this organisation

Would recommend to anyone looking to experience new culture or learn Spanish.

Absolutely loved my time with Proyecto Peru, for anyone looking to experience a new culture and learn some Spanish, I couldn’t recommend it enough. I stayed with a host family and took lessons in Spanish every morning and immediately felt welcomed by the friendly atmosphere and great staff. The array of stuff available to the students is great, from weekly social events to various projects. During my time I made great friends and my Spanish excelled much more than I expected it to. Hats off 🫡

I am so happy I found Proyecto Peru…

I am so happy I found Proyecto Peru when searching for an international volunteer opportunity. The ability to explore and travel a new country while being immersed within the culture of Peru is exactly what I wanted from my trip and exactly what I got. Volunteering within the country has also allowed me to gain connections with other volunteers from all over the world and open my eyes to wildlife opportunities that graze past my home country.

Great homestay and teaching

I didn't do a project, but simply dropped in and the Cusco team (Jorgen) organised private language lessons and homestay - which both started the very same day, as I had hoped. Maria was a great teacher. We covered a lot in our repaso. Host family (Norma, Arturo and Yovana) lived a bus ride away, and were very helpful. 3 meals a day included. We spoke Spanish for hours each day, covering a wide range of topics from politics, religion and geography to their experiences of the history of the country. An A+ experience. Hope to be back. Many thanks

Choose Proyecto Peru for an unique and professional experience

You have to choose Proyecto Peru, if you are in Cusco and are looking for qualified Spanish lessons, homestays, volunteer work or tours. They provide a lot of options that will suit your needs for a reasonable price. I had a great time in Cusco and improved my Spanish skills and got a local experience through my homestay and volunteer work in the afterschool project San Nicolas Urraca.
