Maverick 88 Shotgun Reviews

Been using this for hunting season and it's performed flawlessly. Takes down birds cleanly and the 18.5 inch barrel is perfect for tight spaces. Build quality is surprisingly good for a budget option.

Got this for home defense and it's been reliable. The action is smooth and it feels sturdy in hand. Only complaint is the finish could be better quality, but for the price point you can't really complain.

No frills shotgun that cycles shells and goes bang every time. The fit and finish isn't perfect but it's functional and affordable. Would recommend for anyone needing a basic pump gun on a budget.

Bought this as my first shotgun and it's been a good learning platform. The controls are straightforward and it's forgiving of maintenance mistakes. Wish the trigger was crisper but you get what you pay for.

Used this for three hunting seasons now and it's never let me down. Takes all standard 12 gauge shells without issues and the simple design means less things can go wrong. The wood furniture has held up well too.

This shotgun gets the job done without breaking the bank. The pump action is smooth enough and it's been reliable through about 200 rounds. The plastic trigger guard feels flimsy and the finish scratches easily, but mechanically it's sound.

Exactly what I needed for protecting my family. The short barrel makes it maneuverable indoors and the pump action is intimidating enough to deter trouble. Easy to load and the safety is in a good position.

Works as advertised. Nothing special but reliable.

The gun jammed on me a few times during the first range session, mostly with lighter loads. After a thorough cleaning and break-in period it's been much better. Customer service was helpful when I called about it.

Bought this for trap shooting and it works fine. The trigger is a bit heavy and the stock feels cheap, but it cycles shells reliably. Had to do some minor fitting on the forend but that's typical for budget guns. Overall satisfied for what I paid.

Perfect for someone new to shotguns. Easy to operate and maintain.

The gun functions fine but the bluing started wearing off after just a few months of normal use. For the price I expected better corrosion resistance. Might need to refinish it sooner than I'd like.
