Defective product, refund promised but never received – legal action underway
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with MAJE.
In May 2024, I purchased a product from their online store for €255. The material began to disintegrate shortly after purchase, making the item unusable.
In June 2025, I contacted MAJE’s customer service about the issue. They confirmed it was a manufacturing defect, apologized, and explicitly asked me to return the product so they could process a full refund. I followed their instructions and returned the item as requested.
However, despite their acknowledgement of the defect and repeated promises, I have still not received the refund. I have made multiple follow-ups, and even opened a dispute through PayPal, but shockingly PayPal closed the case in favor of the seller, leaving me with no solution through that channel.
MAJE’s customer service continues to provide vague and unhelpful responses without offering any concrete resolution.
Because of this unacceptable situation, I have now started formal procedures to claim my money through the European Consumer Centre (ECC Spain) and the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform (ODR). I am also preparing to take the case to court in Spain, where as a consumer I am entitled to claim both the unpaid refund and potential damages.
This situation has caused me not only financial harm but also a complete loss of trust in the brand. I strongly advise potential customers to be very cautious when ordering from MAJE online, as they do not seem to honor their obligations—even when they themselves admit the product is defective.
Unless the company resolves this matter immediately, I will proceed with all necessary legal actions.

Achtung! Ich habe eine Tasche für EUR 255,00 online bestellt und sie umgehend nach Lieferung zurückgeschickt, weil sie nicht meiner Vorstellung entsprach. Ich habe über PayPal mit einer Zahlungsfrist von 30 Tagen bezahlt. Obwohl ich einen Beleg darüber habe, dass die Tasche lange vor Ablauf der 30 Tage bei Maje bereits wieder eingegangen war, wurde das Geld abgebucht. Der Service bei Maje hat bisher auf 3 Mails und auch auf die Androhung, einen Rechtsanwalt einzuschalten, nicht reagiert! Dann muss ich jetzt wohl den Rechtsweg gehen!

The staff was very welcoming. I needes a dress for a wedding and wouldn't leave without one. The sales assistant was very very patient. She showed me all the clothes I wanted to try on and left with 3 dresses. I never walk out empty handed. Can't wait to be back. Thank you to the whole team.
Cuir cata, ne prenez pas d'articles sac / chaussures
Sac besace Clover mini lézard que j'ai eu à Noel 2023. Porté occasionnellement à partir d'avril 2024 (une quinzaine de fois, pas plus), jamais surchargé.
A présenté des signes d'usure anormalement rapidement
- Au niveau du fermoir : les couleurs du cuir se sont effacées à l'endroit ou je positionne les doigts pour ouvrir et fermer le sac, comme si le cuir était peint plutôt que teint.
- Au niveau du frottement de la bandoulière : la fine couche de cuir lisse s'est dégradé laissant voir la structure en dessous qui constitue le rabat du sac + la finition des tranches est partie en morceaux).
Le SAV dit en ces termes "Les signes constatés semblent (...) liés à une usure progressive de l’article, inhérente à son utilisation."
Pour une utilisation aussi occasionnelle, je reste perplexe. C'est surtout signe de qualité médiocre.
On paye une fois de plus la marque plus que le prix.
