Rigorous and rewarding computer science camp
The two weeks I spent at Haddee's 2025 AI and Machine Learning Summer Camp at Berkeley might have been one of the most rigorous and enriching learning experiences of my high school career. I have our teacher to thank for that; his slides and lectures are straightforward, and when I have questions (which is often), he is easy to approach after lectures, during breaks, during lunch, and through email -- always patient. Students are expected to come in with ample python background; the homework was manageable, with a recommended two hours of homework each night, but many students, like myself, went well beyond the assigned homework. Outside of academics, the camp director treated each student like family. She is very kind, easy to talk to, and unfailingly optimistic. Meals at Berkeley's Crossroads dining hall is all-you-can-eat. There are lots of options and the food is pretty good. Bathrooms and dorms are sanitary. By the end of the program, I am certain that I want to pursue computer science in higher education and I've made lifelong friends.
