Class 1 licence - 10 day course Wolverhampton

I gained my class 1 licence with GTG, passing my test first time going straight from car to class 1 on the 10 day course sharing the days with a colleague from my employer. I was so lucky to have the phenomenal Stephen Richards (aka Sean Connery) training me, I honestly cannot recommend him highly enough. Over the 10 day course he went from a stranger to a mentor and someone I will call a friend for hopefully many many years to come. I was honestly sad to say goodbye to Steve at the end of the two weeks, we had such a great time together. Coming into the class 1 course I had nothing but a car licence and no experience on the road in anything bigger than a van other than as a passenger and he took me from complete novice to a confident and capable test ready driver in just 10 days teaching me things I know I will carry through my career for many many years to come. The facilities at GTG are absolutely top tier and the staff really are fantastic from the wonderful and friendly front desk team who welcommed us with a smile every day to the excellent catering department who put on great food daily and were always super friendly. Nearly every instructor I came into contact with over the two weeks was exceptional, I personally only had a negative experience with a single instructor on the entire team during the two weeks and everyone else really was truly wonderful throughout my entire time at GTG. The manager (I believe he was the manager of the instructors) I did have an odd and somewhat negative experience with, he was making some snippy comments which I realised after were more aimed at someone else but made to my colleague and I which was a little strange and he was neither friendly or welcoming throughout the course with was made more obvious because everyone else there was so incredibly welcoming all the time but he didn't directly do any of the coaching and was just around the building so it didnt really put a downer on the experience as a whole. On the whole though I would definitely recommend GTG 100% if you are thinking of doing any of the LGV licences. The trucks are lovely to drive, during my course I had the chance to drive both the renaults and the mercs, passing in the merc, that was a lovely truck to drive and one I will no doubt remember for a very long time! Again I cannot thank Steve enough for his time, his wisdom, his patience, I honestly cannot thank him enough, gaining my class 1 really will be a life changing thing for me and I will certainly remember Steve for the rest of my career!

I had a great 4 days with Billy. As an instructor his teaching methods were spot on and helped me through some of the bad habits I was developing. He went above and beyond to help me through it. As a guy he’s a great laugh. Thanks again GTG

I would like to thank Alex the driver trainer who was my trainer for my class 1 this week he was very good at getting his knowledge over and can't thank him enough and GTG for getting my class 1 license.this is my second experience with GTG as I done my full adr last week in Glasgow with Billy and passed that aswell.

Jamie is an absolute legend as an…

Jamie is an absolute legend as an instructor! Every route we practiced was spot on for my test, and his instructions were super clear and easy to follow. Thanks to Jamie, I felt so confident that I aced my first driving test! And let me tell you, I had the best week with him. Not just the driving lessons, but we had the best banter. I can’t recommend GTG Glasgow enough with Jamie as your instructor.

C1 training with Mo

I completed my C1 training with Mo and couldn’t recommend him more highly. Mo was patient, clear, and supportive throughout, which really helped build my confidence driving a larger vehicle for the first time. Thanks to his guidance, I felt well-prepared for the test and for driving an ambulance in the future!

Excellent facility with onsite catering…

Excellent facility with onsite catering and parking. I attended GTG Glasgow for an ADR course. The instructor (Billy) had a great presence in the class with very good delivery skills, combined with excellent knowledge and real life ADR experience. I would highly recommend GTG Glasgow and would use them again for future training requirements

HGV class 1 with instructor Scott

My son completed his Class 1 HGV course at GTG with instructor Scott and passed first time. A few weeks later, I trained with Scott too — and together we became his very first father-and-son pass! I’d was anxious about learning to drive a class 1 HGV , but Scott’s calm, patient, and encouraging approach really helped me manage my nerves and build my confidence. He explained everything clearly, never rushed the process, and made sure I felt ready for every stage. Scott is an excellent instructor with a wealth of knowledge, If you’re looking to get your Class 1 licence, I can’t recommend GTG and Scott highly enough. Thank you, Scott, for guiding both of us to success and making this a milestone we’ll never forget! Darren

1st class training

Did a 1 week ADR course with one of the best trainers I’ve come across. Billy, 1st class in the way he made us feel at ease, and at the same time, pushed us to get as much knowledge as possible. Definitely one of the best classes I’ve been in.

HGV Class 1

Just completed my HGV class 1 course today. Throughout the 10 day course I had the pleasure of being taught by Mo, an absolute amazing instructor always gives great advice and wouldn't of passed if it wasn't for his guidance. Can't say enough good things about him, he really knows how to help. Amazing facilties. Again big thanks to Mo for everything.

My instructor Mo was extremely helpful, approachable, knowledgeable and pleasant and helpful was the key to me passing my Class 1 HGV test 1st time round. Mo had myself and James (co-Trainer) on a 10 day course and both just passed our tests first time (13/8/25). I would highly recommend anyone looking to do this course at GTG Glasgow with Mo. Very professional

Just completed my level 3 hybrid course at the Edinburgh branch with Steve, he has taught me a few times before during my apprenticeship and his method and standard of teaching is very professional! Certainly knows who to get you to think outside the box.
