Had a bathroom installed July '23
Had a bathroom installed July '23, upon completion we thought everything was perfect. However within three months the sealant around the bath started to go mouldy, Aquarius came out to re-seal. A further three months, mouldy sealant, again Aquarius came to re-seal. When asked about why it was happening the staff member said it was to do with the cleaning product they used, if it's not fully removed it reacts with the sealant and causes it to go black. I accepted this as I'm not a bathroom fitter and am not that knowledgeable about sealant. Another 15 months later, after a few months of mouldy sealant I decide to attempt to re-seal the bath myself. Upon taking the old sealant out I find the wall panels have been cut wonky some of the gaps between the bottom of the panels and the bath being about 6mm.
I contacted Aquarius about the warranty on the work carried out and got told it's only a year. I then asked about getting someone to look at the work carried out to see if there was anything we can do to fix this. I got told that their project manager was out on site and would get in touch with me. When he called he offered another 'standard' re-seal for £90 as there is no proof i hadn't done the damage to the panels myself. He was too busy, due to staff illnesses, to attend to see the work standard. I asked if I sent photos of he'd be willing to review and contact me again. Was told I'd hear back that evening. Two days later, after no call back, I contact Aquarius again for an update, the operations manager informed me that again the projects manager was still out on site but had seen the photos, been speaking with the owners and could still only offer a £90 re-seal plus any other repairs necessary would be at my cost. I did question if the operations manager had also seen the photos and if he would be happy with the standard of the panels. He couldn't give me a straight answer. I asked him to get the projects manager to call me back so we can sort this out.
I left it four days, two of those the weekend, for a response, again nothing. So I called back to speak with the projects manager who's first words upon me introducing myself was £90 to re-seal. He again accused me of causing the damage and got abusive to my partner who was also on the call when she was asking questions. He said that gaps of up to 4mm are acceptable, admitted to seeing the photos and again accused me of the damage as I had cut out the old sealant. He wasn't interested in viewing the issue as again there's no guarantee I hadn't caused the damage. The call ended on bad terms.
I never got around to mentioning to the project manager about the 'fitting' of the light cord pull and power supply pull to the ceiling. Both were attached with only sealant to the ceiling, not actually screwed into the ceiling. The screws that were there were superglued in place.
Overall I would not recommend this company and upon viewing more reviews on here and Google I'm not the only one!! Please teach your installers how to cut straight!
I am not one to moan in general
I am not one to moan in general, I leave that to my husband. However we had a kitchen and bathroom refit from Aquarius roughly 5 years ago. Initially the fitters badly damaged our recently laid driveway by mixing tile grout on it. After they pressure washed it to no avail and causing even more damage they did pay a tiny compensation. Now to the kitchen, the recommended appliances were shocking, gave up on the manufacturer warranties eventually as they were shocking and have replaced all appliances ourselves. We had to replace the sink taps as they collapsed after just over a year. Most importantly we have had on going problems with the cupboard doors with the coatings peeling off. Every time we have contacted Aquarius they say send photos and we will contact the supplier. Each time they come back with same lame excuse. It is heat, water or steam damage. It's a kitchen for gods sake !!!. Cooker hood door/heat damage, really ? Cupboard next to oven, heat damage ? It is an absolute joke. All doors are peeling now, so disgusted it is beyond belief.
then
Then there is the bathroom ! Bath panel has never been right from day one. Toilet seat replaced and still shocking. Side of vanity unit peeling off, handles rusty and drawer runners have collapsed.
An absolute shambles.
Avoid at all cost unless you want a quick house tart up to sell on.
