Aquarius came and replaced our bath for us for a slightly bigger one. The work was carried out efficiently and the workman cleaned up after himself. Very happy and when we replace the whole bathroom in 1-2 years won’t look anywhere else.

Had a bathroom installed July '23

Had a bathroom installed July '23, upon completion we thought everything was perfect. However within three months the sealant around the bath started to go mouldy, Aquarius came out to re-seal. A further three months, mouldy sealant, again Aquarius came to re-seal. When asked about why it was happening the staff member said it was to do with the cleaning product they used, if it's not fully removed it reacts with the sealant and causes it to go black. I accepted this as I'm not a bathroom fitter and am not that knowledgeable about sealant. Another 15 months later, after a few months of mouldy sealant I decide to attempt to re-seal the bath myself. Upon taking the old sealant out I find the wall panels have been cut wonky some of the gaps between the bottom of the panels and the bath being about 6mm. I contacted Aquarius about the warranty on the work carried out and got told it's only a year. I then asked about getting someone to look at the work carried out to see if there was anything we can do to fix this. I got told that their project manager was out on site and would get in touch with me. When he called he offered another 'standard' re-seal for £90 as there is no proof i hadn't done the damage to the panels myself. He was too busy, due to staff illnesses, to attend to see the work standard. I asked if I sent photos of he'd be willing to review and contact me again. Was told I'd hear back that evening. Two days later, after no call back, I contact Aquarius again for an update, the operations manager informed me that again the projects manager was still out on site but had seen the photos, been speaking with the owners and could still only offer a £90 re-seal plus any other repairs necessary would be at my cost. I did question if the operations manager had also seen the photos and if he would be happy with the standard of the panels. He couldn't give me a straight answer. I asked him to get the projects manager to call me back so we can sort this out. I left it four days, two of those the weekend, for a response, again nothing. So I called back to speak with the projects manager who's first words upon me introducing myself was £90 to re-seal. He again accused me of causing the damage and got abusive to my partner who was also on the call when she was asking questions. He said that gaps of up to 4mm are acceptable, admitted to seeing the photos and again accused me of the damage as I had cut out the old sealant. He wasn't interested in viewing the issue as again there's no guarantee I hadn't caused the damage. The call ended on bad terms. I never got around to mentioning to the project manager about the 'fitting' of the light cord pull and power supply pull to the ceiling. Both were attached with only sealant to the ceiling, not actually screwed into the ceiling. The screws that were there were superglued in place. Overall I would not recommend this company and upon viewing more reviews on here and Google I'm not the only one!! Please teach your installers how to cut straight!

I am not one to moan in general

I am not one to moan in general, I leave that to my husband. However we had a kitchen and bathroom refit from Aquarius roughly 5 years ago. Initially the fitters badly damaged our recently laid driveway by mixing tile grout on it. After they pressure washed it to no avail and causing even more damage they did pay a tiny compensation. Now to the kitchen, the recommended appliances were shocking, gave up on the manufacturer warranties eventually as they were shocking and have replaced all appliances ourselves. We had to replace the sink taps as they collapsed after just over a year. Most importantly we have had on going problems with the cupboard doors with the coatings peeling off. Every time we have contacted Aquarius they say send photos and we will contact the supplier. Each time they come back with same lame excuse. It is heat, water or steam damage. It's a kitchen for gods sake !!!. Cooker hood door/heat damage, really ? Cupboard next to oven, heat damage ? It is an absolute joke. All doors are peeling now, so disgusted it is beyond belief. then Then there is the bathroom ! Bath panel has never been right from day one. Toilet seat replaced and still shocking. Side of vanity unit peeling off, handles rusty and drawer runners have collapsed. An absolute shambles. Avoid at all cost unless you want a quick house tart up to sell on.

Small Ensuite

Where do I start ! I booked a quote in July 2024. We paid a deposit and agreed a start date of February 2025! We did upgrade our products and the price was in excess of £8,600. The first 2 days went well and I even said if this continues it’s a 5 star review. Big mistake! I will cut this short and be brief. The toilet was fitted a total of 3 times! the shower cubicle was fitted twice, resealed due to leaks six times! And then completely replaced so making that fitted 3 times. The towel rail is behind the door so a door stop has had to be put in. Why when there is loads of space for it to be put further along the wall. I could actually say more but I won’t bore you. The only reason I have given 2 stars is because they did not shy away from the incompetence and addressed each complaint every time. This ensuite took a total of 3 weeks to complete. Would I recommend, absolutely not!

Excellent

Second time we have used this company. Used this time for a small downstairs toilet/washroom. Dean came at the times he said he would come, and kept us in the loop throughout, checking what we wanted before he started and throughout. He ensured that the job was left clean. The finished job was excellent. Very happy with everything. Would recommend.

A remarkable transformation!

We recently had the pleasure of working with Aquarius Home Improvements to renovate our small, outdated bathroom, and the results exceeded our expectations. From start to finish, their team was professional, attentive, and truly skilled at their craft. They transformed our cramped, worn-out space into a stunning, modern bathroom with a walk-in shower that we absolutely love. The attention to detail and quality of workmanship were outstanding. The design recommendations they provided maximised the use of space and incorporated features we hadn’t even thought of. Every step of the process was transparent, from the initial consultation to the final walk-through, and the project was completed within budget. We couldn’t be happier with our new bathroom and highly recommend Aquarius to anyone looking for exceptional renovation work. Their expertise and dedication made all the difference, and we’re now enjoying a beautiful, functional space that feels elegant! Their dedication and expertise have truly made our dream bathroom a reality.

Shoddy work completed 3 years ago

Shoddy work completed 3 years ago, that we are only now discovering. Lack of attention to detail, some of which which has resulted in extensive water damage to floorboards underneath bath. The guy couldn't even cut straight with a saw, we have now discovered.

Rude Staff

House is undergoing renovation and had these guys out to quote a bathroom. Explained that we have just sold another property and are working on this one, they guy quoting turned up with a snooty attitude and left refusing to quote due to the condition. Well it was explained that the property is being renovated top to bottom, its just had a new roof and the next is bathroom and bedrooms upstairs. If you are only willing to work in immaculate properties maybe you should state that. Also how do you offer new bathrooms and kitchens without doing any general building work, electrical work, plastering or boarding i don't know as they are needed in the majority of property renovations / adaptations.

Absolutely abysmal!

Absolutely abysmal! My grandmother had the unfortunate experience of using Aquarius to fit her a new bathroom suite and fit plastic panels to the walls and ceiling. She is left regretting her decision and wanting her old bathroom back! The new bathroom that has been fitted is such poor quality- cheap, substandard and definitely not reflective of the price. It has also been fitted very poorly. She’s had to have them back out to put things right atleast 5 times! To give you an idea of what she’s gone through here is a brief summary- on day 1 of the 9 day project 2 “workmen” turned up (1 looked about 16 and the other in his 40s) the older one said it was his first day working for the company? He was then left to work alone for the rest of the project, which did set alarm bells ringing slightly as not only is it a mammoth job for 2 people let alone 1 person on their own but a new person to the company as well! All we can fathom that he actually did during this time was drink an obscene number of cups of tea (156 to be precise as she’d stocked up with 160 teabags before the work began and just 4 were left at the end!) and smoke cigarettes constantly (we spent a long time unblocking cigarette butts from the drain). Something else we both found a bit alarming was being handed a “contract” to sign stating that there would be a lot of mess and that the customer would have to clean it and no costs could be claimed from the “tradesman” for any cleaning that needed to be done, Aquarius did say that this is not something they knew about and he shouldn’t have done it. Moving on, the bathroom itself was left in such a dodgy state that it was almost unbelievable. The radiator was the wrong size (he admitted later on that he’d got the sizing the wrong way around) so naturally he’d cut a chunk out of the plinth beneath to make it fit! He’d admitted to dropping the worktop when carrying it and it was badly chipped but he still decided to fit it anyway, the shower doors were hung unlevel, the toilet roll holder was put on the wrong way around. The measurements of everything he’d fitted was completely out so nothing sat flush or fitted together properly. The mirror wasn’t flush against the wall and rocked when touched. The handles on the cupboard doors were all either upside down or unlevel. The sink leaked. The floor “you could pour 100 buckets of water over and it will never lift” started lifting after a week before even a drop had gone on it. The heated towel rail didn’t heat up and was also wobbly (my grandmother was given a key to tighten it herself for when it comes loose). Each point my grandmother or I made to the workman initially was met with “that’s the way it’s done now” or “that’s the way it should be”. My grandmother has a portfolio of properties she rents out so knows a thing or 2 about property development so this really was an insult of her intelligence. I will give the company credit where it’s due, they did come out within the hour each time to correct the issues. They also told us that that day had not been his first day and he had in fact been working for the company for a while? However the final straw was when my grandmother rang them to say she was getting no hot water through the new tap they’d fitted and didn’t want to fiddle about with it herself so gave them a call and they told her she’d need a whole new sink and pipe work! Luckily I was there and took a look and found the hot water valve was closed and they’d simply forgotten to reopen it! At the end of all this they insulted her by offering to reduce the £9000+ bill by £20!! Ofcourse this didn’t go down well and they did come down a little bit further but all in all she’s been left with a bathroom she dislikes, with substandard fixtures and fittings, all fitted out by an absolute cowboy. I believe the workman in question has since been “let go” by the company, that is only what they have told us, but I sincerely hope that this is the case. Honestly I wouldn’t trust this company nor would I recommend them. Apparently one of the owners/managers “doesn’t take well to bad reviews” and looking online I can’t find any negative reviews, just an abundance of positive ones- seems a little suspicious to me.

We were sold something that they…

We were sold something that they couldn't deliver. If it wasn't for the fitter (Phil) I would have given it -5 star. We had a visit from one of their salespeople and we agreed to replace the bath with a walk-in shower just like the picture he showed us (the one that appears on their website) and also replace our sink and toilet. They sent a guy around to do a 'survey' who walked in took one look and walked out saying all would be perfect. When it came to installation it was left to Phil to tell us that the walk-in shower we ordered was a step-in shower because they don't install walk -in showers. The sink unit arrived without a sink and the unit was not what we wanted either. Fair play they did sort it out.

Great Smaller Works service

We have had a minor problem with some floor tiles in our bathroom around the shower, but one we wanted to get sorted before it deteriorated further. We asked a couple of contractors to quote but neither were interested as it was deemed to be too small a job to be worth their while. I came across Aquarius and noticed the ‘Smaller Works’ service advertised on their website. I contacted them and within a few days Jake came out to have a look. The quote came through the next day and the price was very reasonable. Two days later the job was complete! My wife thinks the shower area now looks better than it did when it was first done. Thanks to Jake and Steve in particular for their attention. I have no hesitation in recommending this company.

2 more fabulous jobs by the Aquarius…

2 more fabulous jobs by the Aquarius team. The front porch that so desperately needed updating I was ashamed to open the front door, has been completely transformed with new flooring, bespoke storage and window sill. I love it ! The bathroom has also been given a totally new look - the beige tiled walls replaced by bright sparkly panels with co-ordinated flooring and all new accessories and fittings. All the guys - the fitters, electricians, joiner etc worked so hard and were a pleasure to have in our home. Well done Aquarius - again !

Great bathroom transformation

Just recently had a bathroom refurb. done by Aquarius ,and cannot fault any thing they have done from start to finish . The quote was competitive and together with the fact they don’t use contractors, use quality products and give a very good time scale for completion of work we decided to go ahead .They are always busy so had to wait about 5 months for work to be done but we were in no rush . They informed us near estimated date with a confirmed date and turned up on time . Steve was our fitter a genuinely nice guy with many talents and did all work apart from electrics . He totally stripped bathroom and moved things around ,a very clean worker and all rubbished removed at end of every day. Any problems encountered he just got on with no fuss . The work was supposed to take 5 days but went a little over but the end result was brilliant, a truly professional job . Would definitely recommend this company.

New bathroom.

I'm very pleased with my new bathroom. Very helpful customer service, pre and post fitting, with quick replies to queries. Sean, my fitter, was very skilled in a number of trades and he went above and beyond to ensure my finished bathroom was spot on. Both Sean, and also Dalton who helped on a few days, were hardworking, polite and respectful. Thank you to you for my lovely new bathroom

Excellent customer service and great products.

The first thing that stands out about this company is the excellent customer service, it is second to none and the pride that the owners take in the business is to be commended. They offer some beautiful bathrooms, great packages at really good prices. There were a few issues during the fit, which we always expect with major work such as we had done, but they made sure that everything was addressed and very promptly rectified. The sign of a good business. We have now got an amazing bathroom thanks to Aquarius Home Improvements and would recommend them to anyone. Thank you again guys for all the hard work.
