Ardent Training were Brilliant As a dyslexic artist I was going to find Yacht Master Theory difficult, but they made it achievable for me, they were professional, approachable, encouraging, always happy to answer my silly questions. The lessons were easy to follow and very watchable I rewatched them so many times I felt they were friends and family. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them
I found the quality of the online lessons and explanations to be excellent, and the personal support was also great.
A brilliant well structured course. With such a lot of content to cover I was worried an online course would be dull and difficult to follow but this was not the case! It almost feels like you’re sitting with the instructors on their boats. The course builds gradually and is easy to follow with regular knowledge checks and the instructors are readily available for any questions . Would highly recommend for anyone doing the day skipper theory
I made the RYA Dayskipper course and exam with Ardent Training. 150% recommend. Extremely well developped content, materials and reference documents. The Ardent team is instantly responsive to questions. There is great feedback on the Mock Exam that was a perfect preparation for the actual exam. Due to my frequent travelling the online learning was perfect for me and gave me full flexibility to do the RYA dayskypper at my pace. Completed the full course in about 7 weeks.

Just completed the RYA Day Skipper course with Ardent Training. Have to say the training modules and supporting resources are excellent. The team have put together comprehensive and easy to follow training videos and have supporting text and additional info running alongside Each module is broken down into sub sections, each has a test to check your knowledge, then a final end of module test. You get answers and explanations for each along the way. Nice feature is you can select the modules in any order and go back retry the tests as much as you like The team are on hand very quickly vian the easy to access web chat on the page. They were always helpful and knowledgeable. They also offer great support for the exam by providing a mock exam which is marked personally and they give personal feedback. they also give feedback after the final exam. For anyone looking to complete an RYA theory based course, I would definitely recommend Ardent Training Thanks to all the team, I'll definitely be back for my next course Pete

I recently completed my Day Skipper Theory course with Ardent Training and I can’t recommend them highly enough. The course was absolutely fantastic – perfectly structured, clear, and engaging, especially for visual learners like myself. The way the material was laid out made even the more complex topics easy to grasp. What really sets Ardent apart is their support team – unbelievably responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to go the extra mile. You never feel like you’re left on your own; there’s always someone ready to help. A truly amazing team and an excellent training provider. I’ll definitely be coming back for future courses.
I did the RYA Dayskipper Theory with Ardent Training. The whole experience was amazing and there are no issues I could point to at all. When booking the course they provide a very nice set of tools, a high quality divider and Portland plotter, along with tidal ladder forms and passage proforma and a very nice (and useful) bookmark. These just made the whole process so much easier as I didn't have to go out of my way to do research about which tools I actually need and saved me a lot of hassle. Structure of the course: The course is made up of a number of modules, each focused on a specific topic, which comes handy when navigating through the material. Each module is then broken up into short slides/videos in which the instructors explain what we should know. I especially enjoyed watching the videos, every instructor is very sweet and nice to listen to. The explanations are accompanied by a text version on a slide which are also great as they list all things we need to remember. There are knowledge checks in each module which are simple quizzes made to repeat what you have learned in the previous few lessons. I think these do a great job at making you actually remember the material. There is also a live chat feature, but I didn't use this much as I had no questions. In summary I had a good time doing the course. I also think that everything is done just right. It is highlighted when something is important or not, the lectures are very easy to watch, and the knowledge checks and module assessments keep you on track and make sure you move on knowing everything about the module. I am a teacher myself (although I teach mathematics at a university) and I thought everything was just right in a teaching standpoint. Everything is done professionally which I also really appreciated.
Recently completed RYA YM Offshore theory, but only with the excellent guidance of Ardent. A superb course presentation of video instruction, with almost instant response online from instructors for any questions 24/7 Can not recommend this company more highly for anyone looking for YM theory. A totally enjoyable learning experience.
The online course was incredibly hard for me to do - it didn’t work at all with my learning style. However, the instructors at Ardent were wonderful and made adjustments to support my learning and to enable me to complete the exam. A big thank you to the instructors,
I have just completed the Day Skipper / Online Theory course. I absolutely loved it! The initial free trial "sold me". Edd, Charly and the amazing Ardent team have created an engaging, relatable and effective online video training system. Proof is in the pudding - I just passed! Thank you for all the ongoing weekly support with my Module Assessments and how quickly (online chat) you replied. I feel lucky to have chosen Ardent to take me a step closer to the dark blue waters.
excellent course to follow, easy to navigate through the modules, can choose which order to do them. each module has series of test questions for each sub topic, then a main assessment for whole module a the end of each. all with feedback and examples / corrections. very good online chat facility is excellent with instructors online within a few minutes to help assist with any queries. excellent study pack provided with high quality Portland Plotter, and dividers. also rope provided to help with knots, for anyone contemplating a course - would definitely recommend.

I recently completed online training with Ardent and was very impressed with every aspect of the course. The app worked well on both a laptop and a tablet. The course material was broken down into manageable chunks and the tracker keeps you up to date on your progress. When I had questions, I'd receive a comprehensive reply within 20 minutes. A first-class product from a first-class team, I'd recommend Ardent wholeheartedly.
I looked forward to moving through the video training, the instructors were very friendly and seasoned sailors. Lots of videos taken on sailboats, added to the viewing experience. The feedback on the chat function was excellent and super responsive.
What a detailed, patient and thoughtful course! The videos are engaging, relate theory to practical sailing situations and are accompanied by carefully designed tests. It might not be the cheapest way of doing day skipper theory but it's well worth the money! I found the final assessment a little trickier than the mock assessment but nonetheless felt very well prepared. A great course I can thoroughly recommend.
Contact with the instructors very easy and almost immediate. All my queries were delt with in a fast and efficient way. I found the course content was presented in an informal way that was interesting and easy to understand. I will be keeping in touch with the team when i move to the next phase of my training. Great people!
The team have created an excellent platform for learning sailing theory. The resources they provide are great and the support they offer is superb! I have enjoyed being able to learn at my own pace and build confidence from the knowledge checks. It's nice being able to revise through the content as you go as well to keep the knowledge fresh.
Having a very busy working pattern which changes frequently fits Ardent training well, the learning style and dashboard is very flexible for those that cannot commit to significant study lengths. Support from a “real” person is there pretty much all the time and are very sensitive to individual needs. The weekly schools are also a great opportunity for those that can join. All round I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the personal-able experience.
So, there are a lot of courses out there for Day Skipper and all have their relative merits. I chose the Ardent course as it felt like it had a stronger human element to the material delivery. I was right. Not only is the course material excellently constructed, you really get to know the instructors. The support mechanisms are also top rate. I was sceptical about how quickly an instructor would respond to a question but its as close to instant as you need. A final thought. I am a serial non academic person with a loathing of anything that approaches structured learning. Guess what. This was actually enjoyable and really easy to absorb.
