Fantastic design, versatile functionality but poor quality. Kudos to Amundsensport for the encouragement to buy less. However, this requires sustainable lasting products. Amongst others I have a pair of «Peak» knickerbockers. The waterproof seal inside the pants are falling apart after 2 seasons of use. The shop try to blame the customer; You have used; Wrong detergent, tumbledry and what not. The washing instructions have been followed, however, you must prove(!) you have done everything right. The price tag should equal to high quality and service. It is human to fail, but it is a choice to have bad customer service. If you are looking for sustainable clothing I would recommend other brands such as Norrøna.
Their customer service is just the worst I’ve seen. I’ve been trying to change a pair of boots and it takes them one week to reply to my emails, and still haven’t been able to make much progress. Completely disappointed.
Amundsen sports!!! Branded from the most famous Norwegan explorer and a brand that proudly flies the Norwegen colours on its clothing. So, a good mark of Norwegen quality one might think? NO! Its low quality produce, made in China, and priced up for the European market. Furthermore, do not believe for one moment their internal product reviews from so called 'verified' customers. All their reviews are processed and filtered by the notorious Judge.me - a third party group of foreigners based in London that manage and process product reviews on behalf of clients, like Amundsen. Their ethos is to filter out negative reviews and only display 5 star positive reviews. I tested the system out by placing a 1 Star negative review on the Amundsen website, Judge.me then emailed me to verify the review, but the review was removed and never posted. So this means, Amundsen's reviews are an entire SCAM. I've bought many procucts from Amundsen. I was impressed at first, but then the quality started to fall off as the prices went up, and because everything is made and shipped from China, their levels of stock are poorly maintained.
I ordered the field fleece wool jacket and the website describes it as 70% wool and 30% nylon. That would a durable, warm, and odor resistant material. It arrived and the tag says 70% polyester and 30% wool. Honestly, it feels like 100% polyester. This will more quickly smell, rip, and break down. This jacket is designed for those who want to look the part but don't actually have a rugged lifestyle. Given the prices, one would expect better fabrics and no matter what an honest product description!
Webpage says “Made in Europe” for the sweater I bought. When it arrives, it says “Made in China” on the inside. Quality not as expected, much thinner than advertised. Piece of crap. DO NOT BUY!
I’m very disappointed to say that I’ve bought several thousand dollars worth of merchandise from this company. I was expecting a high-quality product produced in Norway with long lasting fabrics. Unfortunately, this company doesn’t sell that, the products aren’t made in Norway they’re made other places they’re not using Norwegian fabrics or Norwegian technology. They’re using Eastern European work. I have never seen such shoddy cotton products in my life, even the T-shirts at Walmart are better quality than these and I paid almost $40 per T-shirt, do not waste your money shop around, but do not buy from this company. They’re trading on a famous man’s name and unfortunately, they don’t uphold traditions, said by the RonaldAmundsen.
