DONT DO IT! SAVE URSELF THE TROB.
I had an extremely frustrating experience with Routes Car Rental that I feel compelled to share. From the moment I encountered an issue, I was met with nothing but rudeness and unprofessionalism—particularly from an employee named Harry. When I asked to speak with a manager, I was repeatedly told the manager was in a "meeting." I asked if someone could take my number so the manager could call me back, and Harry bluntly told me it wouldn’t matter. When I asked why, he flat-out said he wouldn’t let me speak to the manager—no explanation, just a flat refusal. I told him this was terrible customer service, and unfortunately, the interaction only got worse from there. I wasn’t even trying to get a full refund initially; I was simply hoping they’d work with me so I could still rent from them. But when it became clear they wouldn’t help, I said I would need a refund. Harry told me, without hesitation, that I would "never see that refund." Absolutely shocking. The interaction was rude, unhelpful, and completely dismissive. I even mentioned how I'd read the many negative reviews about this company, but wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Sadly, everything I read was confirmed in that one interaction. Avoid this company if you value basic respect and customer service. There are far better options out there.
