I thought I had bought peace of mind.
I thought I had bought peace of mind. Supplied the company with all required info upon opening the account. They excluded anything to do with the bowel, I had admitted to taking 4 pills to relieve IBS & admitted I had some prescription steroid cream for a skin condition, all/any skin conditions were also excluded. I thought at the time, God forbid I get stomach cancer but if I did I'd be covered as opposed to bowel cancer where I wouldn't. I accepted the somewhat bizarre terms and diligently paid a monthly premium for 22 months C. £2860, without making a claim. I had a bit of trouble with my right knee. The practice I use, for more than 20 years, has always sorted the insurance claim direct (in this instance 2 x £45= £90), G&M were unknown to them. I had to deal with the claim via G&M who informedme that; 1. I needed my GP,s referral, for each and every claim (I had already finished treatment by this time) 2 Permission for my full 600 page medical notes to be released. I adhered to these demands whilst profusely apologising to my GP for wasting his time with a condition that I had already been treated and signed off for. G&M eventually wrote to me to say that my claim was unsuccessful as I had not disclosed a problem with my right knee dating back 21 months ago. They had informed me that my GP had charged £50 for providing them with my records and their 'get out' clause.I paid my physio bill of £90 and cancelled the NON-insurance policy. . G&M are now claiming I owe them £950 for using the policy (I didn't, they did) and cancelling mid term and are threatening me with court action if I do not pay.Bring it on I say! Buyer be VERY aware of giving this VERY REPUTABLE COMPANY any of your hard earned, 'Money for nothing and the chicks are free' Dire Straits !
