Please judge this yourself:
Please judge this yourself: A friend asked me to order a car part for him. He has heard of computers but has never seen one. He is a farmer type person. So I found the part on car-parts.ie alias autodoc. The price was okay but, for some undisclosed and some unfathomable reason the delivery charges are the highest in Europe!! Despite this I ordered the part. This is one of those sites where you have to open an account. I hate that. Realy. So I gave my friends address and an old email account of mine that I had not used for a while. Unfortunately, I misspelled it. After completing the sale I realised my error and mailed the seller, via the contact us link on car-parts site. and got this reply: IDear customer, We hope you are well. We'd love to help you change your email address on your account. To do this, could you provide us with the order number and the correct email address, please? Also, you can change your email address by logging into your AUTODOC account and going to Settings. If you have any further questions, do not hesitate to contact us. Wishing you a great day. Sincerely, The AUTODOC Team. wrote: email was incorrect. have corrected email on this form. I replied as below. > email was incorrect. I have corrected email on this form. Given that they had used the corrected email and thus, I had received it, I assumed it was done. Eh no. Nothing nada. So I sent this: Reader please note: for somewhat obvious reasons I have removed some data and replaced it with the word omitted. Please be advised that, on purchasing order ref:omitted I miss typed the email address as omitted. The correct email is this one, the one you sent this note to. the correct email is: omitted I do not recollect what password I used and I cannot check the progress, of this order, as your note suggests, via your net site. I made this purchase on behalf a a neighbor called omitted and it is his name on the delivery address. Kindly advise the status of the delivery please. Peter I got this: Hi Peter! Thank you for contacting our customer support. We would like to inform you that due to the GDPR law, we can not provide information to third parties. Inform the owner of the order to contact us by phone. If you have any other questions, please contact us. We wish you a nice day and all the best. Just to recap a moment here. I made the purchase online. I paid for the item online. I am the customer. It does not matter if I am sending to an address other than mine. And by the way they have no telephone number listed on their site. The result of this crap is I have been told, I assume by some brainless automated system, that I cannot be informed of the status of my order or when it may or may not be delivered as it breaks GDPR law. Incidentally it does not. This organization is either owned by fools or just employs them. I tried contacting them again and got the same auto reply. Incorrectly making the false claim that. one: I am not the customer. Two: that the delivery date is protected by GDPR restrictions. My best advice. If you possibly can, buy someplace else. At the time of writing this I have not heard anything further. As, this site is for truth telling. The day after writing I was sent a tracking number.
