Avoid At All Cost
After a No Fault Claim and ringing the number on my insurance policy I assumed incorrectly that my insurers were dealing with this claim I went abroad shortly after the accident so all communications conducted regarding the Van hire were done over the phone Early August I accepted a settlement figure on my van which was beyond economical repair and gave bank details for the sum to be paid Countless phone calls later and still no payment When I eventually accessed TouchPoint I could see many emails going backwards and forwards between Winns Claim Handler and Third Party Insurers In September Third Party Insurers stated they would no longer be liable for Van Hire Costs as they had not received my bank details This debacle carried on till early November when we eventually received payment and returned the hired Van As far as I was concerned matter closed But no in June 2024 a year after the accident Winns issued Court Order for Van Hire Costs of £42000 yes you have read that correctly Emails from Client Services we’re in my opinion quite intimidating and caused me and my wife sleepless nights and extreme stress having never been to Court in my life before Luckily when the Legal Department took over we were allocated a new file handler Megan David who worked tirelessly on my behalf to achieve an out of Court Settlement and last week 2 weeks before I was due to go to Court and 2 years after the accident this was achieved It’s a great pity that those dealing with this in the first instance were not as efficient and good at their job as Megan She never failed to answer emails or ring to help put my mind at rest so although I will make sure if I ever have another accident I am talking to my insurance company an not Winns I would like to thank Megan and she would rate 5 stars if I was just reviewing her and not the Company as a whole
