Avoid Mint Mobile’s Refer a Friend Program
I referred a friend to Mint Mobile using the official referral link provided via email. She clicked the link and purchased a plan, but I never received credit for the referral. When I contacted customer service, they claimed the link “wasn’t clicked properly.” My friend confirmed she used the link I sent her, and she even followed up with Mint herself to explain what happened. Despite this, Mint refused to honor the referral credit. Most reputable companies would make things right in a situation like this—especially when it’s clear that the referral led to a new customer. Mint Mobile, however, claimed they were powerless to fix the issue, even if their own system failed. That’s not how you build customer trust. As a result, neither of us will be referring anyone to Mint Mobile in the future. That’s business they’ve lost—not just from us, but from anyone we might have recommended the service to. After speaking with customer service again, they’re still insisting that the referral link wasn’t successfully clicked. However, my friend showed me the exact link she used—the same one I sent her—so I know she followed the correct process. It’s frustrating that Mint Mobile won’t acknowledge this, even with clear evidence on our end.
