Poor experience with Sicily by Car – unclear process and unexpected damage charges We recently rented a car from Sicily by Car at Catania Airport and had a very disappointing experience. There was no in-person handover or inspection, everything was done digitally. That meant we had no chance to check for existing damage, and no one reviewed the condition of the car with us before we drove off. After dropping off the car early in the morning (around 6:00 AM) by placing the keys in the return box – as instructed – we received a message shortly afterwards claiming that there was new damage to the car, and that we had to pay for it. This was shocking, especially since the damage was likely already there, but we were never given a proper chance to document or contest it. The whole process felt disorganized and misleading. I would not rent from them again.
