The Great Indian Rail Journey
We’ve just returned from the Great Railway Journey (22 March- 6 April) and loved every minute. Our tour manager/guide Anuj/AJ was amazing and took time to talk to each tour member and get to know them. The itinerary was jam packed and it should be noted that this is not a holiday for those who want long lies and pool chill time. There are numerous early starts but these are absolutely necessary, to cover the distance required, to beat the crowds and, to beat the heat. The guides in Amritsar and Shimla were excellent. Hotel accommodation for the most part exceeded expectations. Excursions and train trips were very well planned and executed. The coach driver and bus boy were fantastic and always very pleasant. A special thank you to our car driver for the second week of the trip - Nishu. I still have no clue how these drivers stay so calm in the madness of Indian city traffic and the nail biting bends going to Shimla. We felt very safe at all times. There was something special in every city we visited and this was a fantastic insight to Incredible India.
