A tour that went without any glitch.
Booking MYC-64896 Classic Europe from London (16 days / 47 people) 21/09/24 I was really surprised to see so many negative reviews in so many tours, as our experience was exactly the opposite. The tour was excellent, marred by two or three days of rain, but the rest of the time the weather was OK. The bus was fine, but no Wi-Fi and not much leg room for tall people and the metal pedals for your feet are a nuisance and worthless. Three of the hotels didn’t have USB points in the rooms and one had powerpoints not compatible with our adapters (see attached). Hotel Massimo d’Azeglio, not recommended, at least not on weekends, as it’s opposite a restaurant/bar that has outdoor tables and live entertainment. The band is loud, and the singer is awful; hard to go to sleep with all the noise. We’re strongly impressed by our tour guide/leader, Kevin Screene. Kudos to him, a top true professional to the core, and an example to follow by other tour guides/leaders. We travel overseas on every school holiday, so we’ve had many, many guides on group and on private tours. Kevin has been the best ever and everyone on this tour was of the same opinion: he was a 10/10. Friendly and helpful, he went the extra mile every single day to keep us well informed about the places visited -his knowledge of history is remarkably comprehensive and he’s a good storyteller-, he gave us clear and precise instructions and directions at all times, and his diction was flawless. Kevin really was a living example of the “someone going well above and beyond the call of duty.” We felt good at all times, he helped us when we needed him, he cared, and the trip was a success thanks to him in a big way. When Kevin is not on tour, he should be training people at a tourism academy, really, he has a lot to give. Damien, our Polish driver, was also tops. Friendly, helpful and we felt completely safe and at ease with his driving.
