Absolute Garbage Company
On the day me and my housemates were due to move in, we were given our contract and this is when we learned that the price listed on the Beals website was innaccurate. Due to it being such short notice we were pressured to accept this and move in anyway, otherwise one of us would have essentially been rendered homeless. Once we started living there, we learnt that the walls were full of holes that allowed pests in during the winter; half the cooking equipment is barely functional; the bathtub was falling apart since day one; there are several floorboards that are loose or missing; and the garden was in a state that Bealls themselves described as "unlivable" condition. When they finally did hire someone in to fix the garden, they left behind ten bin bags worth of garbage. They said they would come back for it, but never did. Conversations with the landlord (on the rare ocassion he was available) suggest he has never even seen the property he rented to us. On top of all this, when Beals staff come to do viewings for future clients, they complain to us about the above issues as if they are our fault. Overall, renting from Beals has not been a great experience for me.
