Leonardo Hotel Newcastle

Spent 4 nights at this hotel, booked through Just Go Holidays. The food was OK; however, the evening meal's service was unbelievable for a so called 4-star hotel. Only two waiters were available to serve over 50 diners. The service was so bad one night that we had to serve ourselves. Absolute chaos! The room service was also very poor. Needing a wake-up call, I reported at the service desk that our phone was not operating. Alas, nothing was done about it. After our first day's stay, my wife and I suspected that the tea cups in our room were not being washed. To test this, I pencilled crosses on the bottom of the cups before we went out for the day. Finding on our return that the crosses were still present, I took the cups to the service desk where I spoke to the "deputy manager." I got no satisfaction! He said that the cups looked clean enough to him, but that he would report the issue to the hotel manager. Regrettably, no one got back to me. Avoid this hotel if you expect good hygiene!
