Cancellation with NO compensation

Again you refuse to answer my question: WHY PENALIZE THE RENTER FOR CANCELLING BUT NO PENALTY FOR OWNER? If this is not illegal, it is certainly unethical. You have one set of rules for renters (penalized for cancellation) and another set of rules for owners (no penalty for cancellation). Offering me a 10% off is useless since you cannot come up with any comparable properties. 10% of nothing is nothing. As the rental agent, it is your duty to provide a comparable property. Since you can’t (or won’t) do that, you must compensate me. It is the only fair & decent way to do business. After getting response from Turnkey, I would like to change my review to ZERO stars. They did not respond to my issue. If I had cancelled, I would pay a penalty. If the owner cancels, they should pay a penalty to compensate me. TurnKey did NOT find any suitable properties to replace the one they cancelled. There is nothing available for high season. That is why I booked a year in advance. After they cancelled and had no other comparable properties, I searched everywhere and finally found one that cost a lot more in a less desirable location. Do not book through Turnkey. They will penalize the renter for cancelling with no penalty for the owner. If not illegal, this is certainly unethical business practice. I booked a 2 week Florida vacation rental in March 2021 for March 2022 and paid my deposit. This week, I get a text that the rental has been cancelled, supposedly because the owner took it off their site. However, this property still shows on their website. They offered me a 10% discount on my next rental and of course, my deposit back (which I have yet to receive). That is unacceptable. There are no comparable properties available at this late date. Everything has been booked for months. They sent me a couple of completely unsuitable listings. The only comparable properties I have found are far from my location and cost thousands more. I booked this months ago. If I had cancelled, there would be a hefty penalty. I expect Turnkey to compensate me for this late cancellation since I will pay a lot more to get anything comparable. Please escalate this issue to your executive team for compensation.
