Very unprofessional staff and unhappy…

Very unprofessional staff and unhappy customer experience: 1. Staff notifying us nothing about how clean the toilet cassette should be and we were charged with a whopping $250 fine for a bit of shit stuck on the cassette lid. It was some very expensive shit. Probably pricier than gold weight wise. 2. We tried to dispute the matter but the staff at their branch were very indifferent and kicked the ball to their feedback team, which can only be approached through email. They contacted us a week later, stating that we can take the matter further to external investigation if not happy. I’m going to report to NZ commerce commission and I encourage everyone who’s not happy with them to do the same. Their bad practice needs to be exposed, and they seem to have a bad reputation for ripping off overseas tourists. The charges normally come when the tourists have left the country but we are NZers and we have the time to fight them, if any tourists got ripped off I suggest go to NZ commerce commission to file a complaint. I believe with enough complaints the company will have to pay a fine or at least offer better service for fear of consequences. 3. Overall we didn’t enjoy the camper trip much because the rental fee, plus the insurance, plus the petrol cost caused by these petrol guzzlers (yes their rentals are thirsty, like the company) and the unpredictable fine, it’s seriously worth considering getting a rental car and pay for comfortable motels. We did our maths afterwards and if you do yours you may be surprised. Plus a car is easier and safer to drive on NZ roads, we got stuck somewhere on a remote road because the van was too heavy to pull itself up a moderate slope and we had to wait for hours to get road rescue. 4. Juicy rentals was acquired by some Polar Capital after Covid so I guess their priority is to squeeze as much money as they can from tourists knowing they have close to none information on consumer rights here. If you’ve been ripped off as well, get busy with reporting their unfair trading behaviours to Consumer NZ, Commerce Commission, talking to Stuff news, calling them out on their social media, asking for help from Citizen Advice, etc. let’s not be the silent majority and let the NZ trip leave a bad taste in your mouth, because most NZers care about justice, and you need to let them know, so they can speak up for you as well. Hope everyone enjoys NZ and get their justice
