About to lose my mortgage offer…
I was directed to Enact through a remortgage with Santander. This process began in December 2024 and with 3 weeks to go until my mortgage offer expires on June 2nd (and five months sat on a variable 8% mortgage) it appears there is little to no progress. Their online portal is relatively unhelpful and I do not always get answers to the questions I ask. I have requested evidence of email chains to my grounds management company and been given some evidence of this in formats that don’t seem to open. I was also given the advice to contact the grounds management company myself which surely should not be my responsibility (and I am being told by them that they are awaiting responses from Enact). Requests to access their formal complaints procedure have been met with the response that this can be done after completion (which I do not think will be happening). I have paid an additional £1500 (and counting) in mortgage interest payments than I would have if the mortgage had been sorted sooner. In addition to requesting items/forms that weren’t relevant, their most recent issue is to take 3 months to send a previous shared occupier a letter stating that the photo identification that she sent ‘did not meet requirements’ despite being verified by her own solicitor. I have lost all confidence in these conveyancers but live in hope that these problems can be rectified and some element of apology/reimbursement be possible.
