2022 Volvo XC60 Recharge CA to IA

This is a mixed review. The carrier was great. RoadRunner, not so much. Got a quote online and when they called me the next day after finding a carrier they informed me it would cost $300 more. I didn’t ask questions, I wanted the car shipped so I did it as they were able to accommodate within the week. I paid the $300 extra as well as $99 extra to have preferential placement on the open trailer (I naively chose that in the quote). The preferential placement was not communicated to the carrier and I was the last pickup so I was on the bottom and on the end. The kind driver laughed and said he didn’t know why they have that. There is no benefit other than having your car placed where it fits best - he knows the trailer best. The driver was extremely nice and established trust so I wasn’t concerned to release my car to him. Don’t pay the extra! RoadRunner has not answered their phone when I’ve tried to call them multiple times for customer service trying to get my money back. Roadrunner was clueless about pretty much everything because there was no communication between the carrier and them once the carrier agreed to do my job. RoadRunner didn’t know if or when my car was picked up and their tracking feature was nonexistent. I got an email the afternoon of pickup saying: “Scheduled Pickup - Booking #R989793. This is an automated notification from RoadRunner Auto Transport regarding your scheduled pickup. If your vehicle has not been picked up yet, or if the driver has not contacted the pickup party, you can reach out to your assigned carrier directly for a status update. Assigned Carrier: NBC Logistics Inc Carrier Phone: 307-413-9818 In the event that the carrier does not answer, please be patient as they may be driving, loading, or unloading another unit.” Clueless and made it clear they didn’t want me to call RR. I was shocked when I got the text two days before the delivery date saying the driver was trying to deliver. Two days early and on the weekend. It doesn’t get much better than that! Well, it would have been nice if RR knew the delivery date and RR communicated it to me. They just stuck with the estimate they gave me upfront. Would I use RoadRunner again? I might if I could get my $99 back. I would definitely use the carrier again.
