Shoe caused injury

I’ve been a loyal Nike customer for years, but this recent experience has completely shattered my trust in the brand. I purchased a pair of Nike shoes that ended up causing a painful bruise on my ankle—a clear product issue, not a sizing or sock problem. When I reached out to Nike for support, I was met with cold, robotic responses and zero empathy. Their customer service insisted on an "inspection" process but made it clear in advance that I likely wouldn’t qualify for any compensation, even before seeing the product. Let me be clear: I wasn’t asking for anything unreasonable—just a gift card to replace shoes that physically injured me. I even offered to destroy the shoes and send a photo, but Nike refused. The whole process felt designed to deter customers rather than help them. This kind of treatment is unacceptable, especially from a global brand that markets itself as customer-focused and athlete-first. Nike, if you won’t stand behind your products, why should anyone stand in line to buy them? PS A friend of mine had the same issue. Seems its a design flaw. Side of shoe is too high.
