Shocking provider & customer service
My contract with sky was coming to an end on July 5th. The only reason I chose to go with squirrel was because of the price difference. Now I understand why it’s so cheap! At the back end of May I decided to go with this company. 6th June an engineer was sent out to check the service could be migrated - great start I thought. I soon received an email on the same day stating that nothing else was required and the internet could be migrated over without a problem…. The end of June arrives and I’m 5days from being without a contract & no communication from squirrel. I contacted them to find out what was going off & was told someone would get back to me that same day - they didn’t. 2 days later, I decide to chase them (again). I received an email back asking if I have a modem in the property, (I had already told them in previous emails that I only have one from sky), no response back. 5th July I chase them again to find out what’s happening in a panic my internet was going to be cut off. They got back to me asking me the same questions about the modem and they will need to arrange an engineer visit, the earliest they could do was 17th July. 🤦♀️ I’ve never known anything like it. I was seeking a cheaper broadband within plenty of time to get it sorted before my contract ran out with Sky, you’d think 2 months notice would have been enough but clearly not. Upon explaining to sky the current situation they are now going to match squirrels offer & have been very apologetic for my experience throughout just needing a very simple swap over! I never had such a palaver when I switched from BT to sky a few years ago. The modem was sent out simply to plug into an already existing line & it was up and running. Squirrel said they need to use a £5000 tool in order to plug it in so god knows what they was intending to do - nothing was made clear aside from the fact they don’t communicate between each other, & clearly don’t seem to know what they are doing. I cancelled my order today as it just seems to be so difficult and stressful. Very poor customer service from the off, took 2 months of talking & still nothing was done. If i was you I’d stick with the providers that know what they’re doing!!
