Titan seem to think it’s ok to change…
Titan seem to think it’s ok to change the itinerary of your holiday before and during without consultation with the customer. Just back from Indian Royal Rajasthan trip with them. We were looking forward to staying in the tent village in the desert…this was changed just before we started our holiday with the explanation of animal welfare?! A camel ride wasn’t part of the plan anyway. Having paid in full…we were then told of a change of hotels, supposedly an upgrade but they weren’t. We would have lost our money if we pulled out then. On holiday, our tour guide was told to tell the group that there were family issues at one if the sites we were visiting and to avoid this as it may be closed. Our whole itinerary changed due to this. It wasn’t on any news and we consequently did longer bus trips including a 10 hour one where we missed the afternoon at the top hotel on the itinerary, not arriving until 8 pm and not even time to freshen up for dinner. We did an extra 175 kilometres of travel and had to fly back from a different airport…Jodhpur …which wasn’t in our itinerary. We should all have been given the choice of the change or not, And so it continues! The hotel we were supposed to be staying in in Jodpur was a very nice 5 star hotel …because of the change of itinerary due to above, we were put into a vegetarian hotel which wasn’t even 3 stars. The food was awful, the poolside wasn’t relaxing with only two sun loungers and constant throbbing disco music playing loudly over the pool speakers. We were taken out for a last night dinner to compensate?!!Ha ha joke …as dinner was included anyway and were were given a drink of our choice. Some compensation. The holiday significantly changed from the one we paid for with no apologies or compensation from Titan. They should be under contract to give you the holiday you paid for? Or give you the chance to accept or decline changes when on holiday? Regarding our tour guide…he was exceptional. He was polite, courteous, very knowledgeable of all the places we visited and very informative. He was full of useful local knowledge and contacts for pharmacies, cash points, tuk tuk drivers etc etc and showed us lots of places which weren’t included in our itinerary. He went the extra mile. Titan are lucky to have such a good local guide. I would give him 5 stars including the bus driver and bus helper. A great bunch.
