UPDATE FROM MY PREVIOUS REVIEW
The cabin we’re supposed to stay in is probably burning as we speak.. I contacted the rental company an hour ago for the 4th time regarding the Caldor Fire. A representative I spoke with today stated that since I did not purchase “travelers insurance”, we do not qualify for a refund. Their policy includes no refunds with natural disasters. I was never offered that type of insurance when I booked the cabin! The representative on the phone tried to tell me that our cabin is nowhere near the fires, he stated it’s “40 miles away”. Well he lied because I tracked the location with the exact address to the cabin and it’s literally in the fire where evacuations are occurring as of today.. so we’re fine? It’s sad that this company is playing dumb or they really do not have the slightest clue as to what’s going on. Turn the news on Turnkey! The air quality is hazardous and the smoke is terrible in Sacramento, I can only imagine how bad it is up in Tahoe right now. The fact that they’re providing this type of advice/customer service is beyond me. If this company can’t provide services we PAID for, how does that not qualify for a refund if not a reschedule date? When the cabins are in flames, what are they going to say then? “Come in where it’s warm?” Shame on you, TurnKey Vacation Rentals.
