Where to begin! It was with trepidation that we booked our very first organised tour, but we should not have been concerned. We met our tour manager Rozie at the airport and we knew immediately we were in for a good time. Rozie’s style of managing the tour was fun, extremely well organised and informative. The tour itself was fabulous. We covered many miles and saw so much, from Elvis’ birth place in Tupelo, his Graceland mansion, wonderful music in Nashville with an evening at the Grand Ole Opry and buying cowboy hats (and boots for one fellow traveller) jazz and blues in New Orleans, Alligators and raccoons in the bayou and the duck parade at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis! No visit would be complete without a trip on a paddle steamer down the Mississippi with a jazz band playing. Oh and not forgetting a visit to the Jack Daniel’s distillery! And getting us from A to B, our amazing driver Jan, who went over and above. Always on hand with life’s essentials, chilled water and ponchos when the weather turned. We could not have wished for a better group of people to share this experience with, so much so we will stay in contact with some and I have no doubt there will be a reunion at some point. I have just scratched the surface with this review but would say don’t think about this tour DO this tour and if you find yourself with Rozie as your tour manager and Jan as your driver you’ve hit the jackpot!
