Lyca mobile holding my number hostage // cannot swap an eSIM to a new phone and cannot leave their network
AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!! I had a Lyca UK pre-paid eSIM card in my iPhone for two years, with a phone number that I have become heavily dependent on for social media, WhatsApp etc. In April of this year I upgraded to a newer iPhone. I was not able to transfer the eSIM/number to my new iPhone, so I contacted customer service. Two months of back and forth emailing where they are looking for details which I do not have! The original physical sim card is in the bin. I have answered all of their questions and verified my identity. How hard is it to generate a new eSIM for me to regain access? They have been extremely unhelpful at every single opportunity. They are also refusing to give me a PAC code to allow me to move to another network. They are very frustrating and they take a week to reply each time. I want to keep the mobile number as I depend on it for access to my various social media accounts including WhatsApp. So far, two months later, this issue has still not been resolved. Lyca UK are basically holding my phone number hostage. I have referred the matter to Ofcom, and I would not recommend anyone to use this company for anything no matter how cheap they are. They are a disgrace of a company and I will never give them a penny again
