Cherrypicker and Scissor lift training course
The course was well structured and the trainer welcoming and knowledgeable. However, do not go on this course if you want to know anything about safe working at height because it has very little to do with that. Also, do not go on it if you have never operated scissor lifts or cherry pickers before. You need to be familiar with how these machines work and be comfortable operating them before you attend as there is very little time allocated to teaching this on the course. The assessment is almost solely about how to manouvre these machines around tight spaces and if you are not comfortable with operating them before you attend you will probably fail, as I did. There is no second chance given - if you hit one of the cones or the wall in anyway that it an instant fail (event though the instructor managed to hit the wall with one of the machines while setting it up, but apparently that didn't count) with no option to have another attempt. I would advise that if you are only using your own machines around your own site you would be better getting someone to assess you on your machines rather than going on this course.
