Don't use for boiler service
We signed up for a boiler service with Board Gais which was supposed to be at a 20% discount, costing 75 euros. We paid upfront. The engineer who arrived was over meticulous and decided that the shoot of the boiler was sticking out too far from the outside wall and that this was a safety issue. He decommissioned the boiler without doing any servicing but reassured me that we would not have to pay a second time when he would come back to check that the work was done and service the boiler. We had to get a plumber to do the alteration which cost us close to 300 euros. This plumber was also registered for boiler servicing and told us that there was no issue with having a longer shoot and that he would not have decommissioned the boiler if we would have asked him to do the service. We waited several weeks for the original engineer to come back and when he did, he carried out the servicing and finally passed the boiler. Shortly afterwards we received another bill for 75 euros. We tried to contact customer service, emailed, rang, tried to speak to managers to explain that the engineer had assured us, we would not be billed twice. The reception that we got was neither friendly nor helpful. We have just paid the second bill of 75 euros which brings the total cost for this boiler service to 450 euros rather than the 90 euros that a boiler service with a plumber would have been. This is not to mention that we waisted a lot of time and energy trying to resolve this issue. What a needlessly unpleasant experience!
