Passed 11+ entrance test

I enrolled my son in 11+ online tutoring with Explore Learning (Chestnut Centre) for three main reasons: 1. To provide him with a challenge, as he often felt the school curriculum was too easy. 2. To enhance his ability to articulate his mathematical reasoning. 3. To prepare him for the 11+ entrance test for our local state grammar school. After approximately 10 months of weekly lessons, my son achieved an eligible score on the test. The tutoring not only supported his outstanding school performance but also boosted his confidence, taught him effective exam techniques, and introduced him to various problem-solving methods. Michelle, his tutor, was kind, patient, and adept at keeping him engaged with the material. I appreciated that the 11+ program encompassed Maths, English, and Creative Writing. Whenever Michelle was unavailable, we had the flexibility to choose a replacement tutor or reschedule lessons. The team was consistently responsive and accommodating, promptly addressing any scheduling conflicts and resolving technical issues with clear communication and refunds when necessary. The online platform was excellent for both homework and allowing parents to monitor their child's progress. My son particularly enjoyed the interactive games, like "Escape the Room," which made learning fun. Additionally, we received a paper book for practicing exam questions, simulating the actual test environment, which was part of very effective guided revisions. The centre also provided complimentary one-on-one sessions for parents to discuss progress and concerns via Teams. These sessions were incredibly helpful, and detailed progress reports followed, highlighting average grades per topic.
