Thank you to our tour guide Kam
I have just returned from a wonderful tour of the Golden Triangle and Ranthambore. I was so excited about the trip but also a little bit anxious about how I would cope with such an experience but there was nothing to worry about. We had a tour manager/ guide called Kam. He had extensive knowledge of the area and the attractions. He ensured that we all knew where we had to be and when. He took charge of checking in, entrance tickets, local transport like the jeeps up to the Jaipur Palace. He helped us change money or use ATM machines and helped us deal with the souvenir sellers so that we were able to buy what we wanted without feeling vulnerable. His wonderful sense of humour and wit helped the long coach rides pass quickly. There is so much life going on outside the windows. I mustn’t forget our wonderful driver Pawan and the bus boy Sumit who was so polite and hard working. He kept the bus immaculate and provided us with water to keep us hydrated and charged our headphones each day. Having Kam with us for the week was very reassuring and he helped us get the most out of our time. He was there if we had a problem and also to advise us on how to best fill any free time in every location and how much it should cost. Although it was a busy tour I never felt like I was being herded from one place to another. In fact I felt like a VIP being shown the best places in the best way. One thing that I would say is that the company should consider using a hotel near the airport on the last night rather than going back to the first hotel as you pass the airport on the journey back from Jaipur. You only need a room to shower, a meal and a bed to sleep before the flight home the next morning.
