THEFT, POOR SECURITY AND 0 CARE
I stayed at Leonardo Hotel Watford between the 21st - 23rd March 2023. On first impression the hotel was like any other reasonable corporate hotel, however, this hotel is disgracefully poor and senior management has an awful attitude. Whilst there on the 21st March I went out one evening, leaving some personal belongings in the room that I believed to be secure. On return to the room it was quite evident that my room door was ajar. Inside I found to my dismay that around £550 of personal belongings were missing. As anyone who has been in this experience before may be able to empathise with, this was a traumatic and sensitive situation that needed to be handled with a degree of empathy. This is not what was received. The Deputy General manager was quick to blame myself for this event and then throughout the day continued to avoid me - quite literally ducking and diving away from me. I eventually departed the hotel with responses from the hotel fading away. I had raised the following issues: - Fire doors not compliant due to the closing device not working effective - Fire doors not being compliant due to irregular gaps around the frame leaving the passage of smoke to freely pass into the room in the event of a fire - A security procedure that allows anyone on the street to access any floor, lobby and even in my case bedroom! - No cameras outside the entrance lobby's or corporate event rooms The police have even confirmed to me that there have been "a spat" of burglaries since my experience last week. If you do, it may cost you more than you expect and the subsequent events will be messy!! DO NOT USE LEONARDO HOTELS FOR YOUR OWN PROTECTION!
