Stay Away South Carolina Prospective Renters!!
This is by far the worse property management company I have ever dealt with. They are unresponsive to all maintenance issues, even when you are living in deplorable conditions. There was septic tank issue that took way too long to be addressed. It was clear not only to myself, but the different vendors they sent to the home, that their sole focus was to hire the cheapest vendor possible. Even the numerous vendors stated the issues should not have taking so long to be addressed. The one plumbing company shared with me that so many of their homes have the exact same plumbing issues. They stated the only difference is the address when they get the service request. As they were leaving the home that day, they gave me the name and number of an attorney, that could assist me in suing the company. They drug their feet when raw sewage had flooded the entire crawl space, all sinks, toilets, and tubs. The mold that formed in that crawl space a year prior due to an unknown issue with the well drainage is absolutely why myself and family were always so sick. I sent a picture of the mold that grew all over the steps leading to the crawl space, and up the door after I had put in previous requests about the constant water drainage. I was told pre-mold, nature would take its course, and there was nothing that could be done. After I sent in the pictures, Great Jones sent a vendor to swap out the mold infested door with another door. The mold infested door was left in the crawl space and no type of clean up was done nor did they look at the drainage causing the mold. The plumbing was a joke from the beginning, and instead of addressing the issue, they put a bandaid on it, as long as they could. Previous vendors advised what needed to be done for every issue we had at the home, Great Jones was unwilling to pay to get the work completed. Great Jones only knows how to communicate if you are a day late on rent. It is amazing how only then, their emails and phones work. That home needs to be condemned, and I will assure everything is made public so no other family is subjected to this deplorable home unbeknownst to them. DHEC dug the hole in the yard that led to the septic tank two weeks after I put in numerous emergency requests about the home being flooded with raw sewage and there being no usable sinks, toilets or tubs. DHEC were the first to drain the sewage from the crawl space during that same visit. The sewage was so high in the crawl space, the breakers were submerged in water, and we were without electricity. I should have ran when I moved in, and the A/C was broken. That took forever to get addressed, and then of course the heat was the next issue. After a year, of requests due to the unresolved HVAC issues, another vendor came, and explained I didn’t truly have A/C or Heat. There was a pump that replaced the air in the home with the air outside the home. My energy bill was ridiculously high, and at that moment, I knew why. The vendor advised that I purchase heaters and wall units, which I did. I spent so much time in hotels between no water to the home, the first year, and then septic tank issues the second year, it was insane. I could write a book about my experiences as a tenant. My advise to any prospective residents is read the reviews, save yourself the headache/stress, and rent from anybody else other then them.
