Unacceptable delays, zero communication, and unprofessionalism. Avoid Taylor Rose at all costs.
My experience with Taylor Rose during the sale of my property was a nightmare from start to finish. The process was riddled with avoidable delays, miscommunication, and a complete lack of urgency or professionalism. The buyer’s solicitor was waiting on the LPE1 pack since early June. Each week I was told “we’re expecting to complete next week,” which led me to arrange alternative accommodation by mid-July—plans that fell through due to false timelines. Emails were routinely ignored. Progress was only made when I chased repeatedly by phone. On several occasions, important emails from other parties were only actioned after I explicitly asked if anything had come through—causing further delays. I had to personally step in and coordinate between my solicitor and the management company regarding the LPE1, which should have been the solicitor’s responsibility. I even paid £50+VAT to expedite it on 5 July, and it was received by my solicitor on 18 July—but wasn’t sent to the buyer’s solicitor until 29 July, after I chased again. Misleading me into thinking it had already been sent was disgraceful. Finally on the day of completion in November, it turned out the deed of variation hadn’t been signed by the freeholder—a basic legal requirement. This delayed completion by yet another week putting us at breach of contract, again due to something that any competent solicitor should have anticipated and prepared in advance. After completion, £500 in retention funds were (and still are) to be released once the final service charge accounts were received. I sent these on 26 March 2025. I followed up on 3 April, and again on 4 April with my updated bank account details. I made three phone calls that week—none of which resulted in any contact from my solicitor. On the third call, I was told it would be escalated. Still no response. This has caused undue financial loss, enormous stress, and total frustration. I’ve done more chasing than the solicitor I paid, and had to fix issues they created or ignored. Do not trust Taylor Rose with your sale.
