Dreadful customer service

Having ordered a new washing machine online, which was an easy process, it was delivered on the date and time it was supposed to be - all a good start. On removing the outer packaging I discovered it was not the item I had ordered so I immediately called LG Customer Service and this is where the issues started. Having been on hold for a while I was then informed I would be called back by the online shopping department. I pointed out that it was nearly 6pm on a Friday but was assured I would receive a call. My phone did not ring, and when the phone lines opened again on Saturday morning I called again, this time waiting on hold for 45 minutes before speaking with an agent. The agent appeared very understanding and helpful, but was unable to speak to the relevant department until Monday, but I was again promised an update. The update on Monday was merely one confirming the issue had been raised and someone would be in touch. We are now on Thursday and the only contact I have had with LG has been when I have phoned or used the online chat, each time ending in a promise to update me, with no updates ever coming. So, nearly a week on from the wrong machine being delivered (It would appear from the label on the packaging that this has actually been the fault of the courier) and I am no further forward. I have paid for a washing machine, and the money is out of my account, but I am unable to wash any clothes. The most frustrating thing is the lack of any communication from LG and the dreadful customer service. I accept that mistakes can happen, but there is no excuse for the time it is taking to rectify the issue.
