Do not purchase from JoAnne Fabrics!
On 8/30/23, I placed an order on the Joanne fabrics website. I paid thur Paypal, in less than one hours time I received a emai conformation and immediately contacted them regarding an error on my shipping address. I moved almost a year ago, and changed my address in paypal, but apparently the old address was on the account also. The billing address was where I live now, but the shipping address came up at the address I no longer live at. When I called and requested they change the shipping address at the order I just placed and asked to change the shipping address to the correct one, they said they couldn't do that is us against their policy and one the order is placed that is it, no changes will made. I than asked them to cancel the order, and I would reorder making sure they had the correct shipping address so I could get the order that they placed a hold on my checking account for.Their answer was no they can not cancel any order, that was placed. This all within an hour of the order. I was on the phone with them very day regarding this matter, including Pal pal Who contacted them asking for the same resolution, please change the shipping address, or cancel the order. They did not repond back to pay pal. Paypal informed me they could not do anything until it was shipped and I did not rexeive it. Again back to calling JoAnnes, talking to 2 differen't customer service reps I was working with. The first Sonny told me thur an email, I could cintact the shipper and they could re route the package, I asked who the shipper was, he didn't know and would not know till it left the warehouse. It was shipped 32 hours later thur Fed ex. I contacted Fex ex, they said they could not re route the package, because I was not The shipping company "Joannes" and I would have to contact them to change the address, so I would receive the package. After calling again, they informed me thur email they would just a a curtesy one time FAVOR to give me a refund when the order shipped to the wrong address they were shipping it to. Before I got that email, I called and talked to Gina in customer service and she seemed irratated and told me that Sonny had already addressed in an emai, I told her I hadn't received it yet and checked on it. Afew minutes it csme thur, stating they were going to refund after shipping out merchadise, and I would have to call them again to ask for a refund. A partial of the order was the order was shipped 32 hours later, 31 one hours after I contacted them about the issue. With the wrong shipping address, and the took $43.12 out of my account, money cleared 91/23. And was delivered 82 miles away from where I live. I contacted them again, got Gina, who stated no I would not get a refund until the whole order was shipped, on back order from their warehouse. I asked her when that would be? 1 week, 2 weeks, 3 weeks a month or more? She said she didn't know. So they have $43.12 DOLLARS OF MY MONEY, I HAVE NOTHING! Paypal has opened a dispute, with a hold on funds taken, and any future attempt they take to charge more. Paypal is also doing an investegation on they ratings and other complaints about the company. Paypals position the same as mine was they were given immediate notice of the problem and took no action to make sure I would receive what they took the money for.I have been to many websites, like yours all have a rating for Joannes one star out of five. Wish I had checked first. One lady, stated she placed an on line order with them, the next day Joannes cancelled the order themseves and doubled charge her account for the order they cancelled. I have gone to several rating sites, to let other consumers know the bad ethics and dishonesty in this company, ESPECIALLY BEFORE CHRISTMAS SHOPPING SEASON. My purchase was for yarn for Christmas presents, have arthis in both hands takes longer to crochet, thats why I ordered now! Can't re order or buy else where, they are holding my money. Have also alrwady filed a complaint with thr Federal Trade Commission, abd have a report #, they will also be doing an investagation, based in consumer ratings and complaints. Don't put yourself into my situation, Joannes doesn't care about it's customers and their satifaction, just the money and sales they can steal from consumers.
